Question What ya think...Suzuki Aerio

Hi There, hasn't been around for almost a decade...
been extreme busy at work! Hope you guys still
remember who I am...

Anyways, after all these years with Honda...
now one of my car in the household is getting
too old and not worth of spending more $$$ to
maintain it.... My 1990 Accord EX-R going to
be bye bye!

Now I am looking for a smaller car to replace the
Accord....and as subject, I am thinking about
the Suzuki Aerio SX AWD...

What's your opinion on this car?
does any of you drove this care before?
Do any of your friends own it and like it?

MSRP for this car is approx. 22k before tax.

What do you think? Good or Bad?

Thanks and look forward to hear
from you soon!

regards,
Mugen C

Suzuki makes nice cars... I like them. The styling is unique... to say the least. Considering you can pick up a used 1999/2000 hatch for like 12K, I don't know why you are looking at the Aerio for 22K Plus, sheetmetal quality is garbage on Suzukis and will rust out... kinda like a Civic LOL I say buy a used Civic... even a sedan or something. Much cheaper than 22K Or... now this goes against the grain, but the ECHO... sedan or hatch that's coming out later....

Aerio has nice styling, I like it. Yellow with factory body kit is sick, very Japanese looking.

If you like to wait, I say Echo 3/5 door hatch, that looks nice, too.

Iam a Suzuki sales rep.

2003 Aerio SX AWD is completly sold out across canada. So you would have to wait for the 2004 to show up soon. Were being told end of august early sept.

Driving the car... I have driven them on many occasions. The AWD car is actually really fun to drive, in the snow its great, although only comming in a automatic does have its downfalls. The car has tons of head room and spacious back seat. Standard equipment is good too... actually the only option not avalible on the SX AWD is a sunroof, leather and powerseats. It comes with power windows/locks, cruise, air, power mirrors, cd stereo and more.

The Aerio SX AWD did amazing in the IIHS crash ratings, rated right there with Honda Civic, Toyota Corrolla, Subaru Impreza, and mini cooper. And is only 22,895++ for the AWD version.

There is gonna be a slight price increase of the 2004 model, not sure yet what it will be... but the car is getting a engine change, its going from a 2.0L to a 2.3L and increase in HP to 155-160HP range. The AWD system is also being added to the sedan line up aswell.

Ive been trying to get them to give me a SX as a demo car, its a nice looking little car with tons of space inside. I like alot, and there is tons of space to add a turbo ect to the engine.. hehehe

If you have anymore questions please email me at bill.suzuki@sympatico.ca

Ill be more then willing to help you out and work out a deal for you.

BTW... about the rust thing... the car comes wtih a 7yr anti rust warranty. And also a 5yr 100,000km powertrain warranty, 3 yrs/60000km bumper to bumper warranty and 5 yrs unlimited kms raod side assistance. All included in the MSRP price.

Its true... hehehe.

To Dave: Thanks for the offer, I will PM you for the seat!

As for why we are not getting a Used/new Civic?
Because we are looking for a Wagon/5dr...
also, the higher insurance rate for Civic is another
factor for me to pick Suzuki over Honda...

We were looking at the Echo 5 drs hatch too...
but it's too small and afterall...
the primary drivers will be my Parents,
and they don't like the Echo!

Hey CrazyKid...please let me know ASAP about
the arrival of 2004 Aerio SX AWD A/T. PM me the price range (Not the MSRP crap okay?) will be also appreciated).

Thanks and look forward to hear more opinion from all of you!

regards,
Mugen C

I don't have any experience with the Aerio myself, although I do find the dash to be a little stanage looking IMO. Anways you might also want to consider the Toyota Matrix or Mazda Protege5. I have driven the Matrix and thought it was a good vehicle overall and similarly priced with the Aerio you are considering.

Mugen C...

I jsut got the price sheets for the 2004 emailed ot me. The cars will be avalible soon so im being told. I have nothing ore then a MSRP price at this time... the rpice increased $500 on the AWD model. So I can tell you i can sell you the car for the prices on a 2003 without any problems.

Here is a list of the upgrades to the 2004 Aerio SX AWD A/T:
-increased engine displacemnt 2.0to a 2.3L with 155HP @ 5400RPM
-AM/FM/6CD changer ( indash ) with 6 speakers and subwoofer.
-lever style drivers seat adjustment and center armrest.
-redesigned wheels.
-floor mats now standard equipment.

it also has all the same feaures as the 2003 model.

I have no financing programs for 2004 yet. I think well see them next month for sure since the programs we have now end sept 1st 03. I will keep you posted on avaliblity. I will be one of the first dealers to get the cars as I work for the only corprate suzuki dealer owned and operated by Suzuki Canada Inc.

Hope we can help you out.

What about the colors? Are they remaining the same or else?
Darn...6CDs 6 speakers & Subwoofer, 155 horses! Guess I should be giving my 98 Accord to my parents, then having the 4th Gen. Civic + 04 Aerio myself!

Where is Ingersoll btw? Is it far from Mississauga!

can afford the rims...can't afford the tires...unless I am
going crappy...

But seriously...if I am the one who drives...
I will get the matrix XR instead...
but the Toyota Dealer that I've dealt with before
gave me very bad impression...and I couldn't
convince myself have anything "related"
to Corolla...
