welding advice

I'm looking for advice on buying welding equipment.

I don't know what I should go for. Oxy-Acetylene, or MIG?

I intend on doing minor auto exhaust work with it, but more importantly I'm interested in auto body welding and welding sheet metal (for work).

It'd be nice to do some brazing here and there too.

Any advice on what to get, and where to get it?

I'm thinking the only way I can afford to go MIG is with a small unit and buying it used.

Home depot has a nice electric Arc welder for hobbyists for $200. Anyone know if thats any good?

Can I use those for cutting too?

I want to learn and use it as a hobbyist...
