TTC strike?

on a similar note, GO raised their fares this month...after one of the most horrible winter schedules they ever maintained (45% of union station bound trains were late b/w Dec and Mar). TTC is still not too bad...considering i am NOW paying $245 a month commuting from Burlington to downtown.

^ how the hell are they going to do profit sharing?
that is almost always for publicly trading companies. TTC isn't.
Always no transit system makes profit or you would see them all owned by private owners and not by cities and the province

exactly... it should be run like a business instead of a charity for people who can't do more than drive around in a big bus.

TTC is always ranting about more and more funding all the time. at one point in time, i attended a meeting from the bank where these guys were looking for private funding (outside of the budget allocated by the city/province) but that proposal was hacked down. i remember moscoe said...if we cant get private funding or more funding from teh govt, then raising fares will be our only solution every year.
one media correspondent got excited and asked...you cant do that to consumers and to which he replied.....CAN YOU TRAVEL TO WORK ANY OTHER WAY IN TEH CITY? PAY OR DRIVE THE CAR.
lol
