Seeing how the sinking Raptors resembled the Titanic, it was only fitting that they got booted from the playoffs on this day (April 14th).

Henry Birks dies. A Canadian businessman and founder of a chain of high-end Canadian jewellery stores.
Henry Birks served as a prototype to many Canadian entrepreneurs of the 19th century. As soon as the circumstances would permit, he started his own company, which prospered and ultimately became a Canada-wide commercial empire.
