If a law like this is passed in Ontario, I'll be one happy fella.

Sorry dudes. I'm not a fan of this law.. I am a fan of this law only at night driving but during the day and during rush hour.. this would cause MAJOR havok.. having one lane out of commission.. no way to enforce it.. so it's a waste of tax payer dollars to pass a law like that.

Besides.. consider the Hwy 400... You have 6 lanes from the 401 to like Steeles...

The right lane goes like 90 km/h.. and the left lane.. you can get up to 180 km/h EASY.

Seriously... how slow does a driver need to be going to be considered a "slow driver"?

I could be driving in the second from the left lane @ 140.. and I'd be considered a slow driver?

For safety's sake... I'd be travelling in the left lane and keeping left on that.. just incase.

So you got an argument against that? Fine.. Say I'm travelling 200 km/h in the second from the left lane.. you gonna say I'm too slow to be travelling in the left lane? I can't be using that as my travelling lane? That's plain *** dangerous... I say anybody going 30 km/h over the limit should be allowed to use the left lane as a travelling lane.

Besides.. you don't really have much of a right to complain as long as he's travelling over the speed limit.. unless you're a person who's a hazard to society but consistantly speeding.

Please feel free to flame me back.

True.. but why do people feel the need to speed @ such a faster speed than the posted limit?

That's true. Human nature ALWAYS under-estimates the time required to complete a task. It's been actually proven.

Well, I was going to post this pic in it's own thread, named....."Stupid Drivers", but your post hit the point.

This guy was on the 401 west this afternoon (around 12:30pm). I was already going around 110km.....the guys in the left lane were going around 125Km (estimated). Notice how close this idiot is?

This smilie is not enough------->

The thing that pissed me off the most, was when the lead car slowed down a bit (alowing my car to catch up).....then the guy in the van got behind me in the same way!!! :fustrated

Funny......he backed off when I started to clean my windsheild. I guess he didn't like the fact that alot of washer fluid was being sprayed back onto his windshield. He then had the nerve to look at me as if to say....."why don't you move outta the way!" I hardly ever use the left lane.............morron.

G/F took the pic.....

I can imagine what kind of accident would of happened, if the lead car had suddenly put on his breaks.

I wish cops would crack down on this type of driving. Another thing that pisses me off about drivers, are the ones that don't use their signals.

IS IT THAT HARD TO REACH THE EXTRA 2 - 3 INCHES TO USE THE SIGNAL?!?

I agree with you man!!! I hate those drivers who don't signal when they change lanes. It is as if you're supposed to guess that they want to change lanes.

As for people hogging the left lane that is so stupid. Why can't they just move out of the way and let you go?

"Traffic is only whats in front of you"

Unfortunately thats the motto most drivers follow

If theres traffic in front of you, chances are you're someone else's traffic.

I would be happy with this law as well.

Why? because people have the mentality that if they are going anywhere over the speed limit, they are automatically allowed the right to be in that lane. And it doesn't matter if someone else behind them is/or wants to go faster....it is their right to be in that lane and damn it! they'll be damned if they are gonna let anyone past them. Well at least that's the way I think that they think. I use the left lane as a travelling lane alot, but, I am always going faster than the other traffic. If I ever see someone coming up behind me that is going faster than me, I change lanes to let them pass. It's just common courtesy to allow other traffic to pass you if they are travelling faster.

I can understand where you are coming from, but the law is to prevent people from using the left lane as a driving lane. It should only be used as a passing lane.......

If you are travelling at 120km/h and you are passing traffic, that is fine......but you shouldn't be doing 120km/h, and be in the left lane, if you aren't passing anyone.........do 120km/h in the right lane.....
