I've discussed this before a month ago with the board.

We decided that it'll cost so much... that it wouldn't be worth it.

I'm still thinking about a similar idea ... I figure if I can find another tranny that is for FWD and get it to mount to the engine I could turn the engine 90 degrees and mount it in the car .... however I also have a crazy idea about converting to rear wheel drive and shoe horning a SBC in there .... I was also drinking yesterday

I have also seen a 4WD Civic HB...totally converted drive-train using the CRV Engine with a Supercharger....this is cool...but then again, why put all that time and money into that when you could go the route with an SRV swap and some suspension work and be quicker...

hey he did same thing as im very close too, turned the motor sideways and did somethin else to turn to front wheel drive, u also pick up more hp since the power is comin to the fornt wheels which is faster than going to the back, i still dont know if i should waste the money in it

what are you talking about? that engine is mounted in a rear wheel drive configuration.... there is no power to the front wheels

bud , read it again, if u were to turn ur motor sideways and do more configs u can turn to front wheel, which will give u more power cause its comin faster to the wheels

but look at the pictures ... that car in that link in those pictures has an engine longitutial mount for driving the rear wheels ....just like the s2000 ....

I also don't think it could be rotated unless you find a new transmission that mounts to it.

plus rear wheel drive is better becuase under accleration wieght is moved over the rear tires allowing them to stick better. I'd bet in 2 cars the exact same wieght with the same flywheel HP and the same engines the only difference being one front wheel and one rear wheel drive the rear wheel drive car will get to the end of the 1/4 mile faster ... everytime.

yes I am it's all about wieght distribution ... but you have to remember that the civic was designed to be front wheel drive ... it was never designed to be pushed from the rear wheels but instead pulled by the front ... so if you can leave it front wheel drive it's better for the car ....

however in reference to the link posted that car is rear wheel drive.
