Suggestions for a gym in Richmond Hill/Markham area?????

I've decided to get healthier this year and joining a gym, does any one have any suggestions for good places in the RH/Markham area?

I checked out the Extreme Fitness on Yonge just south of 7 and they've got gorgeous facilities, but it's too pricey for my tastes, $** a month is a lot more than I can afford to pay!!

I've heard some good stuff about Goodlife clubs as well and will check them out in the next couple days. Any other clubs I should take a look at?

I signed with Extreme when there was the deal for $10/month for the first two months.

IMO Extreme is pricey, but worth it because of the facilities. Check out Oasis, Frogs, Goodlife. (All in the RH area).

Frog's in Richmond Hill is a good idea. Really cheap from what I heard, and now they're open 24/7

I used to be a member of Extreme a while back. Way too much $ though, it's like Globo Gym in Dodgeball.

I really liked Extreme Fitness, but it's way too much dough! Maybe when I'm out of school and more established...

Is Goodlife a good gym? I've seen tons of locations around...

What about Oasis or Frog's? I vaguely remember their names from seeing ads and stuff, but are they any good?

More importantly, what's the price range on some of these places? Is it even possibly to find a gym in the $35 (give or take $10) range???

my friend goes to Premier near Esna Park area and he says the gym's crap cause there's no ladies. I know this isn't an important part of working out, but you need some TnA occasionally for inspiration.

only thing about oasis, and frogs (probably), u get all these Richmond Hill little gino **** there cause it's cheap.

If you wanna lift... it's better to avoid the nice fancy places with women running around in leotards talking to guys.

When I used to weight lift, I used to prefer the garage atmosphere more. You get a lot more work done.

It's bad enough seeing them pose in front of their souped up Civics in front of Krispy Kreme, I don't think that I wanna see them at the gym too!

Thanks for the tips guys, I'll be checking out some of these places in the next couple days/weeks. Any thing I should be looking for in a gym? (Yeah, total newbie when it comes to this)

stick to goodlife man, best customer service

AND most locations now have FREE DVD rentals...

yes you read that correctly

our location gives out free movies to members, one movie per customer, for a maximum of 2 days then there is a 5.75 late charge. You can rent AS many movies as you want a month...so technically 30 if you where there everyday.

I mean we dont get EVERY movie in like blockbuster...but this week some of the ones we got in where like resident evil apocolyps, anchoman, i robot, the collaterall....ect

always getting in movies and we have about 150 different titles in stock.

most goodlifes have a pool, if they dont they have one probably around the block at the closest hotel...which of corse is free when you show your card.

apon becomming a member you get a t shirt, book, gy, bag, hat and some more goodies.....what else..most goodlifes have tanning if your into that

goodlife all the way

premier is under fraud investigation and theiur locations are horrid

also all goodlifes have fitness studios, so this means ALL classes are free...body pump, spinning, arobics...yoga...you name it..all free.

corcoran_chris, what location do you work at?

I went and checked out the Goodlife at Markville today and the lady I spoke to didn't mention the DVD thing at all, probably coz it's a brand new promo?

I've been with Premier for a few years now, and the only reason I go is cause it's only $25/month. Otherwise, the customer service sucks, and the facilities aren't that great.
