"Const. Kent Taylor said that if a car looks like a racer and sounds like a racer, then it usually is. The co-ordinator of project ERASE, which aims to drive racing off the streets, said police want to rid the road of menacing-looking vehicles."

so i wonder when we will see them start crushing all the novas, vettes, ferrari's, lambourgini's, SC mustangs etc.... these guys are pushing 300+ HP and half of them are built for racing

its a stupid faze the cops are going thru and its gonna bite them in the *** HARD! gonna be alot of law suits, and more car thefts as if all these cars are gonna get crushed with the motor swaps. they will be more rare and hard to get which will just lead to more car thefts.

its gonna get ugly i can see it now.

You know the law is going to far with cracking down on street racing. Now I'm not saying you should all go out and street race, but lets go drink and drive. You get to keep your car, now that's stupid.

just keep a bottle next to you and tank a little if u guys r gonna street race? lol

you ppl are all pretty rattled up by this law, i wonder why it rattles up everyone if they are againt street racing? if thats the case ppl shouldnt have anything to worry about.

and in the article, the guy doesnt deny street racing, he just says he wasnt doing 180 like the cop said he was. so he was street racing. and they ARE making an example of him, thats obvious, so what if they make an example out of him, they gotta do it with someone and it just happened to be him.

i honestly dont give a crap about this law because i know that i wont get caught for street racing and i dont even do stuff to be considered streety racing.

and plus, a stock d series cant really go anywhere lol

hahaha ....

ya in the end the law probably won't affect me, but what I would hate is if I'm driving a little more aggresive than usual (still safe and whithin the law) and there is a car beside me or something for the cop to be like "you were street racing" and fine me with whatever.....

but I doubt that will happen, a rusted out 89 hatch with a stock motor (and everything else), doesn't exactly draw the most attention (which is a good thing)..

it's the cars that "look fast" which the cops go after. they forget to realize most of them at not even putting out 90hp at the wheels. cosmetic upgrades attract attention at this point so it is better off not doing them because you will be hassled.

i've personally never once been hassled about my car because it doesnt have what the cops are looking for and yet i think it still looks good.

street racer is an idiot for racing, but i think they are equating rice with speed

""Had I been drunk driving I would have been better off. I would have a lesser sentence ... and I would still have my car. I spent the better part of my childhood building it. It wasn't just a car."

Thats so true, yet i dont understand why there making streetracing such a big deal, when there are more drunk driver deaths a year, then streetracing ones,

Its funny all this talk about civics and Hondas while 90 percent of them cant even beat say a new maxima. They make it out like these civics are fire breathing monsters just cause it has a B16 swap.....what a joke, I see fox bodies running around with limo tint, slicks and they are far louder than just about any Honda, maybe they should start crushng them too. If it sounds like a racer then its a racer.. cop that said that is a moronic clown, between cops and the media they are all clueless idiots

I dont agree with some of the things mentioned in the article. But if you dont do, and having nothing to hide, what are you worried about it.

What worries me is that it seems to me like the final decision is at the cops discretion. If he thinks my car looks race prepped then to the crusher it goes. Now my car isn't massivly done up, but it is lowered, has black wheels, and an exhaust. That surely attracts some attention. And then they can see whats under the hood. And if they see a turbo, that wont help me much either.
Even though I have never raced before, it sure as hell looks like I have. And thats why im scared.
