Serious Talk - Body Fat

So I did my fit test last night and my body fat % is in the "acceptable" amount. Not in the fitness, athletic, obese, etc. amounts.

Question is what is the acceptable amount of body fat % loss per week/month/etc?

I have been told so many different ways how to do it as well. How do you do it?

anything more than 2lbs/fat per week will most likely result in lean tissue loss so try to aim no more then that otherwise it will eventually become counter productive.

healthy eating and carido the best for that?

Yesterday I was 117lbs muscle and 38lbs body fat. 24.5% body fat.

Yes I know its not the best, thats why i've been working on it. Its actually down a bit from the beginning.....

My goal is roughly 8-15%. Is this realistic?

If so, what do you think the best way is?

Here we go again...

Your wasting people's time again.

Like I said before you will fail and you did, now you fail again. They gave you tons of info and evidentially you didn't use waht they tried to help you do.

right now I'm probably around 17%

I'm in my 6th week back at the gym after about 2 years on again off again type **** and eating fast food everyday.

So far I'm down from 234lbs to about 221lbs.

My goal is around 200lbs by May.

I may even be a bit higher then 17%. Maybe 18 or 19.

I've also been smoke free since 1 month yesterday!

Yeah I have.

It's not like I'm a beginner though, I just got lazy over the years so I already know what I need to do to get back where I was a few years ago.

Just takes a lot of patience that's all. But once I get hooked to the gym it's over and I go crazy if I miss a day hahaha.

i've been going since january 8, 4-5 days per week.

I've noticed improvement already, but its just the start.

I've lost a little bit of weight but not much, but gained more muscle.

The parts that have been killing me are the 2 weekends I went away ice fishing and abused my body.

Met with a guy yesterday and he told me that free weights are the best thing to do when you want to tone/build muscle mass as well as lose fat.

He also mentioned that just by doing your legs, your upper body will get bigger as well due to the testerone levels going up. (something along those lines).

I really want to lose my mid-section. Thats my problem right now. Haven't noticed anything really.

Doing big compound lifts will help improve your overall fitness.

Example: working on a better squat will help improve your bench press. Sounds stupid but it's true. It's all in the way your central nervous system works.

If I were you, I'd focus on bench press, any type of rows, squats, deadlifts, etc.

And it is true that working your legs helps your body release more testosterone and growth hormone. It's gravity. A lot of your blood is in your legs and they're home to one of the biggest muscle groups in your body.

Also, don't forget sleep. You grow while you rest, not while you workout.

Sleeping 4-5hours a night will kill any gains you're hoping to see...and so will boozing every weekend.
