Semester Burnout

Top Ten Signs That You're Suffering Semester
Burnout:
10. You're so tired, that you now answer the
phone, "Hell."
9. Mom calls to ask how you've been, and you
immediately scream, "Get off my back, bitch!"
8. When your parents inquire about your grades,
you sing the Cookie Monster song: "C is for cookie,
that's good enough for me..."
7. You wake up to discover your bed is on fire,
but go back to sleep because you just don't care.
6. You've got so much on your mind; you've
forgotten how to pee.
5. Just to take a break from studying, you
actually exit your dormitory when the nightly fire
alarm goes off.
4. You sleep more in class than at home.
3. You leave for a party and instinctively bring
your bookbag.
2. Visions of the upcoming weekend help you make
it through Monday.
1. You think about how relaxing it would be if you
were in jail right now.

i had to post this for all the ppl that are going through this right now.... #8 is my favourite.

Number 7 and 4 have actually happened to me... As a matter of fact, there was one class I specifically went to so I could sleep...some b/s philosophy class. I was told to get the hell out of his class, and I told him to shut his hole cuz I paid $500 for his class alone just so I could sleep. I can't believe he passed me...and I still had an A average for the year (and my univ. career). As for 5, if I was sleeping, I didn't even hear the alarm...my room mates would tell me about the fire once I woke up.

you have to learn whom you have to develop a realtionship with, and whom you can take your anger out on... For example, the profs that are higher up in the department of your major are good to be in with...I used to walk to class through the halls of economics, and I'd pretty much be greeted by all the profs on my way to class (though a few minutes late, and they knew it) But if I ever need a recommendation letter for a post-grad, or a prof to supervise my thesis, I'd have no problem. The ******** from the phil dep't I didn't give a ****...no one liked him, he acted like a hysterical woman...so I could act all hard with him, cause I knew no one would give a flying ****. Just gotta know your lines...be sure that you are always better liked than the person you're going up against, esp a prof.

as my program coordinator said while we were having a beer, "college (university) is about jumping through hoopes, and helping other jump through hoops."

ever heard the line you scratch my back i'll scratch yours? it's true.

burnout

that was a good list.....i wish i could sleep in class....i would be killed, I guess that's a problem with doing a nursing course. I think the funniest part about semester burn out is you keep counting the days or weeks till the break and then when i gets there you are sooo damn tired you can't do anything for like a week but sleep. anyone agree?

I'm dreading January 6th when school starts up again though...
