Result of my first online order experience

I ordered a B&M Short Shift from Option Auto Salon on July 1st and the UPS man came to my door on the first attempt yesterday. Obviously no one was home so I am arranging a pickup at their warehouse.

On my credit card, it shows 204 (forgot the decimal). It was priced at 135 + 10 bucks shipping so that comes to 195.75 CDN. Pretty close. But what kills me is the Brokerage Fee.... 66.36 CDN.... LOL

That race version short shift is retailed at 230 + tax here. I could probably get a cheaper deal if I pay cash and whatnot.

Without the Brokerage Fee, yes I will be saving money. With it, I might as well buy it locally.

Next time I order something, I will ask them to ship it to NYC to my gf's friend's place and when she comes up or when we go down to visit, I will pick it up myself.

All and all, the experience has been great. No hassle, and OPTAuto is an excellent place to shop online.

I've ordered from there before, great prices, but the brokerage does kill you in the end.

Next time, request the seller to send the item as a gift or sample...

This eliminates the brokerage fees ..

I believe picking up from US will be the cheapest way to deal with it. I think I will pay a visit to NYC sometime during Thanksgiving Weekend, perhaps.

But not sure whatelse to buy LOL

Hows the price difference when comparing USPS to UPS? Also the reliability?
Which is better/cheaper/best?

Online shopping is good if you dont like running around finding something you like...in the end its the same price as buying locally...in most cases...but convienence is sweet...

yeah and a weak American dollar is SWEET

hahaha, but all in all, sending USPS is the better way, less the stupid brokerage fees from UPS and almost equally as fast shipment of goods

We should get sponsored by USPS or ****, what does USPS become when it transfers to Canada? Canada Post? I can't remember
