Questions: when buying a used car privately
anyone have the problem when they wanted to buy a car, and when they check the history of the car, on the BRAND section, it said "Rebuilt - rebuilt is a vehicle that has been previously branded as salvage but has been rebuilt and inspected in accordance with regulatory criteria."
what do they mean by that, i just wanna know it the car was in an big accident or something, where can i find out about it, if any of u can answering my questions, put help, coz i need to know as soon as possible, thanx everyone

yes, it was a write off at some point and auctioned off by the insurance co... whether it's an accident, stolen recovery, or flood/fire damage, that's up to you to find out by looking at the seams of the car.

if he says yes you then take it to a mechanic's shop you trust have them do a full inspection of it and then get a report from them.

Vehicle was a write off, it's up to the insurance company how to brand the car..
If it's branded salvage - repairable I think then whoever buys it can make the repairs and get a inspection done by a license shop to get the title of rebuilt. It really depends on what kinda car and age to tell how bad it may have been. IE - a 40K merc that's salvage, means it costs more to fix than to buy a new one.. so that tells you the damage may have been susbstantial.. On a $2000 civic if the damage is 2K or more then it's a write off too. But 2k of damage may not be that much damage..
Hard to tell, I'd say that unless you intend to keep this thing for a very long time don't bother cuz its very hard to sell branded cars. If u do plan on keeping it, get it inspected by a reputable shop.. no like CT or a cheap body shop.. Make sure your there too while they are looking at it.. try to find things for yourself..
