as for the official threads, I agree... not everything needs to be made official, this isnt' h-t. just cuz you may think UFC is important doesn't mean everyone else does too.

people tend to post in the "official" thread rather than starting new ones....that is how they started. The odd new thread will still slip by but are usually locked quickly.

So I would say "official" threads do serve a purpose, but just not one for every topic.
