awesome car...rides great...interior is beautiful. definately the best entry level car out there...esthetically. but with all those ties to ford, the long term reliability will b interesting to see...

Love 'em!!

Those hatches look fantastic, especially in that gorgeous blue colour!! I like the sedans too, but those hatches look 100 times better!!

I dunno if it's the mazda 3, but I heard one of the new mazdas are already started to rust a bit?? what's that bout? and I also heard mazda didn't wanna do anything bout it. I think someone on this board mentioned it.

it does share the motor with the focus.
its a mazda engine that ford uses i believe not the other way around.

well,

that would be weird b/c the mazda3 is new
and the focus has been around longer

so that means if the focus uses the same engine as the mazda3..
then then changed their engine for the 2004 model focus?? which looks pretty much the same as the older ones?? i dont see the logic in that..

the motors are essentially the same but on the focus it doesnt have variable valve timing, on the 3 it does...the 3 has more power as well over the focus. just to name a few differences.
the 2.3l variant is also shared with the mazda6.

and as for when the focus started using the same motor on the 3 im not sure, maybe they did change for '04.

Overall the car looks nice, but it's not my taste. Doesn't the Mazda3 use the same chassis as the Focus? Correct me if I'm wrong.

damn if the madza3 uses the same engine and chassis of the focus... thats dissapointing

that means mazda3 is a restyled and rebadged ford

i bet most of the mazda3 owners dont know this
