Math Guys, does this seem right

I am trying to figure out the diameter of the pipe used on my dads stock exhaust system. I measured the cirfumfrence of the pipe and got 19.6cm around.

I found the formula C/D = pie

So I know C = 19.6 and Pie = 3.14

So D = C / Pie

19.6 / 3.14 = 6.24cm diameter

convert that to inches and its about 2.45" diameter, does that sound right?

right, but keep in mind that you measured the circumference of the outside, so you knwo the outside diameter (which is what is used to measure tubing) piping is measured in inside diameter, which is slightly smaller than what you got from the calculation since you have to subtract the thickness of the walls

thats fine, the exhaust will fit over the end anyways, so a 2.5" inlet would slip over the end piece fine

why not just measure the diameter? 1 measurement and no math!

Cause I can't

that would mean I would have to cut off the stock muffler and measure the diameter into the inlet on the muffler, then reweld it back together, you see
