what really pisses me off is, officer in interview says " we can't reveal there names of the officers as they haven't been charged" omg that so bs

fawk if did something stupid , pushed a cop - right away my name would be in the paper and be charged with assaulting a police officer

How is not revealing their names BS? If they haven't been formally charged or even suspended, why should their names be revealed?

My guess is that there are two sides to the story. There is something that they aren't telling in that story. Otherwise, it would be an open and shut case.

that being said, I would like to see them charged and fired. That won't happen of course. They'll likely be suspended with pay or the kids will get it up the rear from other pigs should they pursue the matter.

people get charged and there name appears right away , next thing u know charge gets dropped, there name was still revealed

two sides of the story but even the parents area taking it to the next step

the officer in interview didn't say anything of what the cops did

doesn't matter what the story is , off duty officers beat up the kids , they didn't have weapons , besides probably a big mouth , even then they could call the cops

i admit peel reigon cops r messed up. there are definately racist cops out there, and a lot more than people think.
BUT this forum is like an anti-cop cult or somehting, just cuz they pull you people over for stupidness that you do is not a reason to hate them.

regarding this case, i definately think those kids got an unnecessary beating. maybe there was a reason maybe there wasnt, either way they shouldnt have got their asses kicked for no reason.
and even if there was a reason, i dont think it justifies kicking their asses.

I've been beaten worse by club bouncers for less, and I healed and went on with life...cops didnt care for that matter either, they left the club as I was being thrown out...

hdave, i do not commit indictable offenses, i promise you i am cleaner at least 10% of people without arrests and keep things quite a bit.

I have high moral standards, I do not believe in exploitation, violence unless necessary, and I am motivated by personal growth and casual ambition, not by wealth, status, or power.

Something is wrong with all that. Either I'm a liar, or there are a lot of dirty @sshole cops out there. I should not have this kind of attitude towards them if I am what I say I am.

I just feel bad for the good cops. I used to want to be one. Then I got to know a few of them drunk driving power hungry jerks.

but either way, there is no justification in our society for physically assaulting another person, whether they ran into your car or not...the people in this case should definitly be awarded some money for aggrevated damages (the set back from being off from school/work or whatever) and punitive damages (because this type of behaviour should be punished)...but I think 3.5 mil is a little extreme

that article is too general and doesnt go into specifics. in all likeliness the cops probably did pound the **** out of those kids, but more then likely the kids provoked it a little at the very least. tonnes of ****ty cops out there, this might just be an examples of a few ****ty ones. kids are just pursuing action against the police for the money IMO.

whats the issue? off duty cops hit some idiot kids. i think beatings would inflict more than cut lips. whenever i have seen cops get charged the names are always mentioned.

i agree with hdave, i've been pulled over a few times and dealt with cops on numerous occasions, but my respect for police will never go down. yes, there are power hungry racist cops, but it's sad when community only focus's on them, which in reality is only a small population of police. i agree with steve, if some punk kids ran into my integra and just took off, i would be down there chashing them.

Majority of police force is still decent, at least I like to believe so. Human moral and their occupation don't go hand in hand, therefore, there are always a bad apple in the basket.

Yes....But if he hit my car and did what was right and told me then i wouldnt even care because its just a car. It could be a ferrari for all i care, metal can be fixed.

The whole problem with this story is the kid took off then the guys had to run after them, obviously the kids ran trying to get away with it...either way maybe the beating was too much, but maybe the kids have big mouths too? The racist comment wasnt that bad and likely got said in anger (like all of us havent said somthing harsh when we're pissed )

All in all they dont deserve 3.5 million, theyre not even hurt. Say if this happened to one of your friends, this whole issue would just be another funny story to post on tcc.

reminds me of the time when i was at dicks on a wednesday and a cop came up to me and was talking **** thinking i dont know my rights odd thing was there was 3 of the surrouding me and with their batons or whatever the hell they are called drawn.
I said somethings and they all backed off and couldnt do ****.

"is it cuz i am brown? whats the number of toronto star again...dont think i dont know my rights....cuz when i start to use them you all will be behind bars" and i had the biggest grin on my face too
