To the guys who TRIED to steal my car last night

YOU FAIL!!!!!

So today at 4:30 in the morning all of the sudden I hear a horn blasting outside my window, at first I thought it was the alarm in the wifes CRV going off (her car was broken into about 2 months ago) so I run downstairs grab her keys and head outside to see some punk running away down my street. This is when I realized that it was my cars horn going off and that they broke into my beater EK (parked behind my car) and into my EJ1 trying to steal it.

These guys stole my steering wheel and replaced it with an EK wheel for whatever reason. They broke my steering column and tried to start the ignition, but there was no ecu in the car and my series of kill switches were engaged.

They shifted the windows back and reached in to unlock the door in both of my cars, so now I have 2 cars with windows that don't shut properly.

What I don't get is why they stole my steering wheel, it was a fake Momo wheel, the best part is that they took the time to replace it with an EK wheel. Fawkin losers.

There are some semi-serious car theives on the Stoney Creek mountain, so watch out guys. Just a heads up.

If anyone has any info on this i'd love to hear it.

Sorry to read about it, Andrew.
Even though the car wasn't stolen, just the thought of the damage and hassle can still shake a person up.

thx guys.

The car is in hiding now and i've got wireless security cameras at my house now b/c this isn't the first time this has happened. I've lived in this house for only 6 months now and we've already had 2 incidents (the wifes car was broken into and her GPS stolen about 2 months ago).

At least I still have my car. Although, they would need a tow truck to get it with all the kill switches I have in it and the fact that my ECU wasn't in the car, they couldn't just plug one in and go either b/c the car wouldn't run on a stock ECU.

Damn theives/meth/crack addicts.

i've already got some leads, no thanks to the police, vigilante justice is brewing.

From all of the people i've been talking to, like 5-6 other civics in my area have been broken into or stolen in the last couple of months.

The car is far far away from here now (and no its not at my shop, thats way too obvious). So if they want to try and steal my beater, i've got a nice surprise for them in there.

it'll cost less than my $500 deductible to get it all fixed. In fact, i've already sourced a new steering column, steering wheel (don't want the one they left me, lol) and ignition cylinder for free, I just need to fix my window on the ej1. I already fixed the window on the EK.

Wow...that's crazy. It's also crazy that we need ECU kill switches to have a chance at not getting a car stolen.

prolly right, and that's the sad part of this story. I've only met zee a few times, and I've done a number of deals with members of this site and others and all too often leave thinking what an a$$hat that guy was but never with you zee. always a good transaction and even when dealing with guys with your level of knowledge I usually feel like they're being condescending even though I myself am no stranger to what goes on under the hood of a honda. The fact that someone who knows you would ever wanna take from you, that's just a sociopaths behaviour.

reminds me of when my stupid centre caps were stolen. it's not the value it's the violation. how does a thief look them self in the mirror? I feel bad for these people because they clearly never had anything they loved worth appreciating.
