Looks like a bunch of deadbeat sellers. Pita. NEVER experienced such a pita buying experience in this way before. I'd like to give Honda/Civic the benefit of the doubt that this means they are popular/in high demand/whatever.
Got a reply tonight, though! Looks hopeful. Fingers crossed.
And I gotta wait 'til FRIDAY!
Patience + me = nfg Time to htfu.
Okay, i'll shut up now.

It's the same with people contacting you when you are selling. They all seem interested, then either don't show when you arrange to meet up or they just simply never reply again with no explanation. I had at least 4 people arrange to come see my wife's old car when we were trying to sell it. Only one showed up, and 2 of them I never heard from again, like they fell off the planet. The last person actually bought the car.
There's no communication anymore. People just email you a number and often it is HALF what you're asking... seriously??? Many people leave you in the dark wondering. Really, it's not hard to send a one sentence email saying "I decided to keep looking" or "I can't make it tonight, when are you available next week?".... Is it that difficult???
Sorry to thread-jack...
Thanks for the opportunity to vent about the crappiness of buying/selling cars/car-parts these days. It's getting worse.
OP, hope you find the right car for you and the transaction goes smoothly.

Get used to it. It's the same trying to buy parts. People don't seem in any hurry to sell their item. Why put it up for sale then??? lol

I'm after a 6th gen Civic. Gotta be stick, with power windows. Everything else about the "winning vehicle" is a crap shoot - as long as the overall "numbers" (price vs mileage vs condition etc) work out then i'm good.
I am still wrestling with the idea of a hatchback, but the lack of power windows really hurts. Don't want to have to worry about converting stuff. The current missus only knows stories of how I used to be with spending time/money modding stuff - trying to keep it like that. More or less.
A sedan or coupe would also offer more "protection" to having a bicycle in the trunk - hatchback, not so much.
Got a line on an '00 Si i'm looking at tonight. *crosses fingers* Gonna try hard not to buy it ... 'cuz it's only the second one i'll have seen.

Appealing, but I fear the lack of trunk space and possible insurance cost. I know nothing of either, hence my fear of each.
BUT, my ears are open. Feel free to shoot me a P.M. with more info/link.
So since i'm here ... just got back from checkin' out the car. Super clean, well taken care of, very interested, but it needs new tires and a clutch soon, possibly a couple of other things (depends on how picky the certifying mechanic is). It would not ahve passed a safety in it's current condition, for sure. We left it as him letting me know what happens. Didn't leave a deposit because I didn't feel comfortable doing so. Don't know why, I just didn't. (I listen to my gut, it knows ALL!)
There was a seagull waiting. Didn't even get home and got the call the car was "sold" (seagull left a deposit). lol
Anyways, it was red and that's a cop magnet, so lol

Imo colour is not what attracts cops. Most of my cars have been red and I've never had a problem unless I'm driving like a 17 year old. And not sure why but its also a common misconception that red cars cost more to insure...
Op, good luck with the hunt man hope u find what Ur lookin for.

BREAKING NEWS! Deposit left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With a little luck junior can get a new safety, to replace the old expired one, and then late tomorrow night I can pick it up. It's a black '96 DX coupe pos.
*fingers crossed*
Maybe I can even make this week's Timmys meet.
