Goodnight, Kracker...

Wow, I haven't logged in for a long time and saw this at the top.
I bought some seats off Mark when I had my Civic. I didn't realize who he was at the time, but I noticed his house was down the street from where my dads house was when I was growing up. When I got to his house, he actually recognized me as we used to play together as kids (and my dad was friends with his dad).
Mark had a serious illness that most people didn't know about because he was always super positive and quiet about the illness (or the extent of the illness which was very serious and painful for him). He was able to enjoy life, mostly through his cars (many of which were very cool).
RIP old buddy.

Usually I'd point out the age of the thread but in this case... I'll join in.
I don't know if I actually ever met him personally, maybe at a meet when I first got back into cars. When I was a kid I was in the Honda game and didn't even really know it then I forgot all about cars till I was in my 20's. When I was new to the scene and actually had a car the first forum I was part of was this one and I do remember for sure those who were positive influences and just over all good members of the community. Guys like zeeman who would help as much as they could. The scene changed and is full of haters and cookie cutters. More now then ever it seems at least from where I'm standing. Kracker was one of the guys that made me wanna not only build something fun that I like and is what I want, but also made me want to help others who wanted to build their car too. Tho for me it gets harder all the time to try and help people out when they just wanna build exactly what someone else did. I get that Civics are kinda played and it's almost impossible to do something different with one but because they are so played parts are cheap, the car is reliable and it's easy to make them fast, but B swapped pandas with "spoon" wings and slips like even I've built were so played that now the EG is almost looked down on by even Honda heads. At least for my carbon/white EH3 never did have a B series (I've built them for other people tho) because of people with things like bagged suspension in a red EG who could also take a Del Sol that most people think is a chick car, or one that every one who mods dels rices them out, nope some people make a nice aggressive but very functional with clean actual JDM parts.... end rant, guys who built cars that were what made them happy and did it with style, where why my old EH3 stayed D but with a JRSC, or why I drive a sedan now instead of a coupe/hatch even. I do what I want and try to make it look a way I feel is good.
I don't know whats after a life of a car guy but I hope he knows/knew that there where n00bs who looked up to him.
