I went about 10 years ago. It is a blast. Just listen to your guide and you'll be fine.

And the BUS EATER!!!!!!

Agent Orange 02-Jul-2002 06:10 PM

lol I remember the bus eater lol so much fun to play in it...hehe the first time i ever went to ottawa river we went with river run...the very first rapid we hit the water level dropped and we ripped the bottom of the boat out...and two guys got sucked under...lol took 1 hour to paddle to the next rapid to change boats due to the water pouring it that slowed us down...

imported_JookSingKid 02-Jul-2002 07:01 PM

White Water is awesome!

Just a tip, EAT LOTS of FOOD!!!

You'll need the energy

Agent Orange 02-Jul-2002 09:26 PM

PARTY AS HARD AS YOU CAN THE NIGHT BEFORE WITHOUT causeing you to slow down the next day this wil be the best next 2 days...enjoy it

SiR-Racer 02-Jul-2002 11:01 PM

i wouldnt mind trying white water rafting but here's my prob: i cant swim! how many non-swimmers go out to these things? i understand we get to wear a special coloured helmet so that the guides know to pick us up first should anything happen. still, i'm a little skeptical about the safety...even with a life jacket on.

Agent Orange 03-Jul-2002 01:14 AM

its a very safe sport but i wouldn't suggest you try ottawa river for you first time if you cant swim...its a class 5(Extreme difficulty) 2nd hardest rapid in canada..

Omg it was amazing. The BUS EATER ate our boat and the 5 of us in the front wiped out lol, including one of the guides.

Today we went Sportyaking, in mini 2 person sport kayaks (rubber ones), and we flipped going down the smaller rapids but I was so scared lol.

We have it on video so Ill try and post the video some time.

i would like to try too...how much that cost ya?

Cantonagod 04-Jul-2002 10:00 PM

I went with wilderness too.

imported_loudsubz 05-Jul-2002 02:47 AM

for the 3 of us, and a 3 day package (arrive tuesday night, have dinner etc, do stuff wednesday, sleep, do stuff thurs, then leave in the afternoon) cost us about $800.

Its cheaper if you camp outside, but we opted for the mini cottages.
