Datepit.com & Datehop Cell Phone Text Scam

Recently, wireless bandwidth has been flooded with text messages trying to scam unsuspecting people. Most people who have been hit are on the Telus Mobile network, however, more networks are being targeted. In fact, even people on a Pay-As-You-Go (phone card minutes) are being targeted as well. The Text: “Hey, I got your number from a friend of mine, but I bet you can’t guess who I am! My name hope0707, if you wanna come see if you regonize me online, at hope0707.love-jump.net, Well hope to see you soon!”
or Hey, I got your number from a friend of mine, but I bet you can’t guess who I am! My name psychocutie_p808 if you wanna come see if you regonize me online, at psychocutie_p808.datepit.net , Well hope to see you soon!
Other variations include:
POOKITOU19982.datepit.net
lonewolf624@lovejump.net
Teeney4.match-pit.net
bludevilgirl_822k.date-magik.com
lonewolf624.datehop.org 780-221-1911.
2trueblue4you06.datehop.net
2trueblue4you06.datehop.com
BluDevilGirl_822k.datehop.org
lonewolf624.love-pit.net
All of these sites will redirect you to friendjungle.com, a new social networking site. These text messages are SPAM and nothing more. Telus and most other cell phone service providers have technology in place to prevent SPAM texts to their customers; however, in this case this one slipped through. DO NOT RESPOND to this text, and DO NOT visit FriendJungle.com.

---

WTF, if you reply to a stupid message like that you deserve everything you get.

First off, your friends should not be giving out your number to anyone, under any circumstance.

Then, what the **** kind of idiot would say "guess who" without offering any details like "we have been chased by a guy with a glass eye waving around a pitch fork" or "we conducted an abortion together in a van"

guess who

it could be anyone on earth.

i just find it frustrating that there are people that can procreate with me and are so mentally ill.

i should change my phone display name to 'jesus' and call people for donations.

BWAH-HAHAHHAHAHAHHA...I like that idea.

And, to Mark's request, no I haven't even heard of something like that or received anything like that before - of course, my number is unlisted.

I don't understand why anyone would PAY the penalty to get out of a contract just to sign onto another contract...
I'm with Bell, have been for 2 years, I'm not about to breach the contract just to sign up for another 3 frikkin years with who? Rogers? Like they don't have their fair share of problems.

For the most part, people who do this are unhappy with their service/phone and sick & tired of their provider. They all have problems, that's exactly why they give you the option to buy out. Cash grab.

I hope I was able to help you understand

Bell is so expensive. I can’t understand why anybody would wanna be with them. Telus is crazy expensive too. Can get same thing with Koodo for like $30-$40 cheaper.
