Dell move technical support back from India.

I knew this was coming.

I was one of the people who complained.

they probably use the india call center cause they can pay workers fractions of the minimum wage here, not have to pay benefits, or even treat them well...

how do you think nike makes so much money??

hmmm well i stand corrected, most american companies that move operations to third world contries or the like do so to save money through low wages and such...

nike is one of them

The funny this is that Corporate America makes tonnes of money saving cash by having these off-shore call centers and manufacturing facilities...

... and that they are all taught english by hippy university drop outs.

I don't know what the fuss is about Call centres being in India. I mean, I call some support help-lines that are locally based and get real bad chinese, spanish or heavy accents and even for me, I have to ask them to repeat the question twice. Some of the call centres based in India are real well established. The tech's know what they are talking about unlike some local support help lines. The people I've talked to have decent American accents, I guess some people who don't know how to use a computer over here don't know that not everyone speaks the same way.

Also, being paid in India something like 7 USD/hour is a comfortable living for a young fresh grad, however their hours are horrible. Its not as easy as it sounds, because of the time differences, the call centre employees have to work midnights to service American day calls. Basically call centres have become a great source of income for students trying to make a quick buck, it sure as hell beats working at Mc Donalds for 6.45 / hr.

you got that right... at the rate the america is going they will employ some third world contries and have fun exploited third world living conditions... then realize another nation in far worse economical status will do the same job for half that first third world country did.... so then the american governemnt will make up lies about the country... like 9/11... and then declare war on that original country then once beaten the country will bow down the states... and then they will do all that work for the US for evne cheaper then the second country cause the first countries government is now american....

one day the "evil doers" will be heard and listened to... how many lives mr bush lets die before that realization is another story
