Cop shoots 5 year old boy

NOBLE, Okla. -- A five-year-old boy was shot and killed by a stray bullet fired by a police officer attempting to kill a snake, Noble city manager Bob Wade said.

Wade said police received a complaint Friday night from residents in a subdivision about a snake.

When officers responded, they decided to shoot the snake.

"A few minutes later there was a commotion in a highly wooded area behind them," Wade said. "Apparently the boy was hit by a stray bullet."

The boy apparently was fishing in a pond behind the house.

The boy, later identified as Austin Haley, was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Thought since we have police making mistakes prehaps we should have a post about the good ones which are often forgotten ..

But in all honesty that sucks, but mistakes happen and this guy will probably no longer be a cop.

^^ that could've been anyone, he was off-duty that'd be the same as saying an accountant saved a woman's life...



yeah mistakes do happen - but why don't you try telling that to the mom who just lost her 5 yr old son...

there are more rotten douche cops than good ones. I think the ratio is like 1 to 10?
