cell phone warranty?

My friends phone got wet the other day, it was in his jacket and his jacket was left outside during that hard rainfall. He turned it on and there is visible water in the screen, its a flip phone. I think gatherer works at bell mobility right? His phone is from bell , how does the warranty replacement work? Is is replacement? Because my other friend dropped his phone a couple times to the point that it didnt work at all, and he called bell and they sent him a new phone without even asking about the old broken one

any help would be appreciated
thanks

well the warrenty is void ....

water damage is not warrentioed the phones are not water proof...

call customer service and complain yadda yadda yadda... new phone...

thats how simple it is I think customer service must have a budjet they have to blow on free phones....

dropped phones are another thing when a phone is dropped it ussualy starts to mess up the rf equipment in the phone and as such it just looks like the RF stuff got bumped out of sync and ussually they can be repaired .... just hope the casing doesn't break.... ...

so will they give him the same phone as a replacement or an extremely shitty refurbished crap
b/c thats what they gave the friend who dropped his phone
and when he calls to complain should he say it was left in the rain by accidnet?

thanks

I work in wireless operations here... I just keep the network running ... my only experience with what customer service gives is from what I've heard..

ok refurbished is what he'd get most likely but the key to dealing with the company is to threaten to go to another company because the phone is not working ... they will then connect your call to loyality and retention department and wthey will sort you out nicely .. call customer service....
