your best most likely bet is it have someone else take over your contract, but you will most likely have to throw some money in otherwise why would they take over your contract when they could just sign up for a new one.

also how long is left on your contract too, if 2.5 years out of 3, your ****ed. if 1 year shouldn't be hard

sometimes places like telus give you $150 worth of store credit to give them your rogers phone. i cancelled my fido, paid the $200 and telus gave me a $200 credit so really, it worked out well.

I was in the same situation a while ago, I went on howard forums and found someone who wanted to take over my contract...I was also on a corporate plan and they were able to keep it, so it worked out well. I had to toss in some cash too, and the phone that came with it (it wasn't a great phone)......switched back to Fido, far happier (I know thier the same company, but I have always found fido CS far more helpful, and the price plans are far better).

here's a pretty gay story.
2 years ago my gf had a rogers phone, service sucked, phone shut off by itself all the time, she kept calling to let them know it sucked and was very disappointed. yadda yadda yadda lol they cancelled her contract without fees, and they even offered her a free new phone for her troubles, i told her to stay the hell away period.

here is what you do: (it will drive you nuts and will add stress to your life btw due to roger's horrible customer service)

every complaint call is logged. call rogers every day for few days about how much their service sucks, how it cuts off calls, how you have ****ty reception, about how much their voice-recognition customer service sucks, and how much of a dick ted rogers is.

after a while tell them you are sick of them and based on their failure to provide proper service (complaints logs will show that) you demand to be released from your contract.

it worked for a couple people i know

to cancell a rogers contract you have to take the remaing months left on ure contract...lets say 10.. then you take your monthly payments lets say 60.. then you multiply and divide him half.
ex... 60x10= 600/2 = $300....
you basically have to pay half of what you pay a month...for the rest of your contract up front.. this is the legit way they do it and im sure the ways other people mention like complaing and all can work just letting you know the legit way... I think the amount to cancell has a cap somewhere though.

to cancel a contract it is $20 a month for however many months you have left up to a maximum of $200

so if u got 2 years left u dont pay $240 u pay $200

if u got 10 months left u pay $200, u got 4 months u pay $80

He is 100% right, get a good phone and you'll have no problems, Rogers actually has the best service in ontario, believe it or not.

850Mhz is what you need.

Most of the time, it is the phone that sucked. In Brampton, my reception is kinda bad, but works ok in east end. But my life isn't depended on cell phones.

Rogers is fine, for me of course. Maybe I am not as demanding.
