Buying used car
I'm thinking of buying a 1987 Corolla GTS AE86. Just wondering what kinda things I should be looking out for when buying a car this old, any tips and such, cuz I don't really wanna waste $2000.

there is a race prepped ae86 for sale on www.soloontario.com
body is the best condition and the engine is in great condition too .... couldn't ask for a better maintained car....
thing to watch for is a good body ... with the suspension so old you'll most likel be repairing /replacing parts and same witht he drive train.... however thats normal for a car that old ... if the body starts to rust out there is the cut and reweld but eventually keeping up will be something that is very very hard to do ...
personally I wish when I had got my car I had paid extra for a good body.....

I don't smoke pot. It's an opinion, my opinion, what Vanquish asked for. who made you the authority on novelty cars?
It's like I offended you or something?
Maybe you were high on something with that ego.

I like all honda's for their own characteristics. It's all a matter of opinion and taste. A clean CRX is better looking to me than a done up del sol(not as good as an S2000 haha).
I think because of the "Initial D" hype, the panda scheme AE86 has become an underdogs favorite.

there's a clip of a modified AE86 racing a Skyline GTR. Of course, just like the anime initial D, it's the driver's skill that makes the difference in a race.

The AE86 is actually the top choice in japan for novice and expert drivers for D1 racing. Drifting. In a mag I read today, the order of best drifting cars to modify and own were.
1. 240SX
2. AE86
3. Silvia
4. FD3S 93-95 RX 7
5. 87-91 RX7
6. then all the others like 350Z, SupraTT, miata, etc.
crazy car though, 2000 pounds, DOHC 1.6L, 112HP 102TQ, 53/47 weight distribution, rear wheel with LSD, etc. etc......2000 lbs is light for a car right?
