The Big Apple
I'm going to New York City for a week, I leave this Sunday. Has anyone gone before and could recommend something?
Like a place to eat at? Or something to see, or do, or buy? Not planning on clubs and bars because I'm too young for that in the states still. |

I am going one week today....there is tonnes to see:
Empire state building, times square WTC is nutts...you literally turn a corner and there is a huge hole in the ground Wall street is super cool....huge ass buildings battery park(very tip of manhattan) intrepid air craft carrier(43rd and west end) central park(not at night) rainbow room(NBC studio) statue of liberty penn station(MSG) you have to ride the subway...it is cool...and the only way to see all of these places...its definatley not something you want to walk.... WTC is near battery park at the tip...Empire state building is like 34th and times square is like 40th...I am thinking Central park starts at about 50th....so its definatley a hike...you will love it though....BTW watch your Sheit there...make sure your wallet is secure...and you will be fine...enjoy!!! there is absolutley nothing else like NYC. my friend said to picture it this way...imagine london with 3 million people and all sky scrapers...then times 3...as it is about 3 times the size....NUTTS!!!! |
btw...if your looking for the absolutley best hip hop radio station(if you like it) tune to 97.5.,..this is hot 97....the best hip hop station on the east coast...they play stuff there that we get 6 months later...

New York is a very captivating city...So much to do and see.
I went for a night on a spur of the moment road trip a couple years ago and fell inlove with the place. If you like the atmosphere of a big city, then it doesnt get any better than NYC. PS...We at at Roxy's in Times Square. My friend got a $22 sandwich made from Corned Beef, Tongue, and something else; it was literally the size of his head. |
chris i'm gonna be there next weekend..
if your around there saturday i can show ya around! viper pretty much said everything i would of shopping wise.... century 21 is the place to go...its right across from ground zero... its like holt renfrew with winners prices and cheaper.... macy's should have some sales on right now as well... canal st. for knock offs and bootlegs/mixtapes hot 97 is defintiily the station to listen to, also check out the nba store on 5th ave/niketown also there... have fun! |

Thanks for the suggestions Sha, viper, GoldBadge, JP, etc.
I can't wait to go now, lol. So I have a list with everything everyone posted here, and looking at this tourist guide thing I have about NYC to add more. (JPWND, I am leaving before noon on the day you get there (next Saturday), so it won't work to meet up, but thanks for the offer) |

Well, I'm back... it was an amazing trip!
I saw so much there, Times Square, Central Park, Statue of Liberty, tour of the NBC studios, Rockefeller Centre, Macy's, Century 21, Ground Zero, Wall St., the first pizzeria in New York (Lombardi's, the pizza there was great), Chinatown, Greenwich Village, Soho, Staten Island, ESPN zone, Mets store, Yankees store, bus tour of the city, Gugenheim, lots of great food places, and more too, lots of fun. I think the best thing I did was I went down the street from my hotel to Radio City Music Hall on the day of the MTV awards. I got there at 6.15 and people started showing up a few minutes later, and I saw everybody! I was three feet from Jessica Simpson! And Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo came through in a baby blue Bentley GT on baby blue rims with a polished lip. Not a lot of people knew who they were so it wasn't too loud, and so when Banks was driving right in front of me I was like "Yo that's sick!!!" He looked at me and laughed, and then kept driving, lol  . I saw everyone there, it was sick. If they were there I saw them (G-Unit, Beyonce, J. Lo, Panic! at the Disco, Aguliera, the Jackass guys, *****cat Dolls, Timberlake, Kanye, Diddy, T.I, Ludacris, Shakira, even Hulk Hogan and his hot daughters, everyone.) I'm not usually one to care a lot about seeing celebrities, but I have to admit, seeing them all was sick. And their rides were incredible, some were "just" MTV's SUVs with Foose rims, but then there were so many of Bentley's, Rolls, Maybachs. There was an Escalade with a 2006 Rolls Royce Phantom front-end conversion! Plus there were some old classics, and 30 Seconds to Mars came in an army flatbed full of people, lol. No exotics though, oh well. Anyways, sorry for this incredibly long and probaly equally boring post. Bottom line, go to New York City, it's lots of fun. |
Sounds completely amazing, and that you were able to enjoy so much of what NYC has to offer. Glad you had a good and safe trip, welcome back.
