Am I Just Picky or Something??

I picked up a Casio Exilim EX-Z60 the other day cuz well, my a95 Canon broke and I hate being camera-less...so I figured I would buy a "pocket" camera for now and before I leave for australia to pick up a dslr...So, I've had this thing for 2 days...the size is awesome pretty much the same size of my cell phone so its super pocket worthy but its just not living up to what I'm used to in terms of features in the canon...I'm so contemplating bringing it back after this weekend cuz its just not satisfying my needs...

...so now, am I being greedy for wanting midsized camera performance in features in one the sized of a cell phone or am I just spoiled and need to accept the "step down" in order to have an ultimate "step up" later?

I am a canon guy no doubt but they dont make one this small and the sd700 is too much damn money and is bigger than the casio...so bitter right now, I just wanna pack it back up and throw it back at them and then I will be shutterless again. But then if I bring it back I'm still gonna need the damn point and shoot camera after when I have the big boy cuz lets face it, the pig aint gonna go everywhere, its just not "bar friendly"...oh and on a side note bestbuy has SD cards on sale 2gb card 70bucks NOICE!

point and shoot will never do!!!! I aint takin pics of the sydney opera house with a measly point and shoot hahaha...for important pictures a single lens reflex is essential to capture that frame in time...point and shoots are good for pictures of girls at bars and stuff like that

this is why I want a small *** one man! and generally I pawn off the camera to one of the girls...but believe it or not, I'm slowing down the partying to get my tolerance back to a normal person level cuz it was getting pretty high...kinda gross actually

the only reason I stay away from sony...well the main reason is the damn memory stick...damn proprietary memory, they cant just use an industry norm...plus I find their colour balance way off, its always on the cool side and a tad washed out to me...the new panasonic lumix dslr looks interesting though and so far has some pretty nice reviews

I personally like the Fujifilm camera's. I have the E900 which is semi-compact. I dont think I would take it to a club, but its still compact enough for everyday use. Plus it has DSLR like functions, which I like. It's kind of expensive but maybe one of the smaller fujifilm camera's would be good? If their picture quality is anything like mine then I would highly suggest it.

I believe the new Sony Alpha DSLR (I think thats what its called) is comign with a CF slot, and will ship with a MS pro adaptor.....I think something like that would be needed for them to get into the DSLR game, for the exact reason you said...

if your getting a dslr in austrailia when you go I say you suck it up and come to terms with the point and shoot you have now ... and just wait till you can go high end....

of course if you are unsatisfied you could try to return it .. get your money back and put it into your "I need a high end camera" funds...

of course then you'd be cameraless and you'd probably happen along alot more Kodiak moments without the camera in hand .. then you'd be cursing and swearing that you took my advice and you'd use the camera money to get a gun and take me out.

so in the end don't listen too me... I'm too young to die

My friend has the Casio Z60 and doesn't like it. He finds the image quality is so-so.

If you're looking for a small pocket sized canon, you can take a look at the SD450 (5mp) or the SD630 (whatever the new one is). They don't have as many features as the casio but look gorgeous.

Alternatively, take a look at the new panasonic cameras. They make something the same size as the pocket Casio / Canon and have image stabilization technology that's supposed to be really good. I had lots of problems taking pictures with my SD450 in low light. You have to hold that shizzt steady.

yes, so that seals the damn deal...this thing is goin back...I thought it was just me but its not...I'm gonna look at that panasonic unit...canons I have never had a low light problem especially since I shoot low lights in a priority mode with my own iso settings and exposure step ups...damn casio piece of wood!
