2004 Mustang concept
Okay, I'll admit I've never been a big fan of American car designs but I have to say that Ford has done an incredible job with the 2004 Mustang GT concept that premiered at the Detroit Auto Show. It's a beautiful re-hash of the classic 1967-** fastback Mustangs of yore.

From Motor Trend online (www.motortrend.com):
Ford Mustang GT For any muscle enthusiast who can recall the gorgeous 1967-1968 Mustangs, the fastback coupe and convertible concepts conjure all the right emotions. Ford insiders confide that these concepts from the Ford Living Legends studio are 90 percent accurate to the production models, specifically the Cobra variant. These show stoppers pack a supercharged 4.6-liter DOHC V-8 producing 400 horsepower, with the coupe featuring a six-speed manual trans and the convertible packing a five-speed automatic. Both V-6 and lower-powered V-8 will also be offered, though output figures were not disclosed. It is expected the SVT model will feature an independent rear suspension, while the mainstream models feature a live axle -- just like the current line up. Sales are expected to begin in April 2004 to coincide with the influential Mustang's original debut. |

mustangs rule!!
used to love the old late 80 stangs, got ugly for a while, now slowly starting to appreciate the newer designs of the 90's the more curvy one and the newest one....But if that sucker in the picture comes out and it looks like that...i must say there will probably be one in my driveway

I have to agree, I really like that design!
|
Well, I think I'm the only one who thinks it looks worse than rita McNeil in a string bakini. It's too spacy and wierd looking, like almost all concept cars.
|
I've always liked mustangs....my first love :)

I like it alot.
However I would have liked to see the rear bulge a little more and I think the roofline drops offs a little too soon at the back. but other than that its very cool |
