Car looks really clean and good price with all the extra mods. I'd be cautious of the rebuilt motor as clearly with all the performance mods that were done the car was probably driven pretty hard. GL with the buy and hope everything works out.

I would say more like $4500 for that car. But yes be cautious about it, because i gerenty the car has been beaten on.

Is he willing to sell it with legitimate certification and e-test? Looking at the engine compartment, I'd be wondering about that.

I'd run away from it for reasons given in your other post about this car.

Buying a modified car, especially one with a lot of miles on it, often buys you nothing but trouble.

If he is going to get you a fake e-test or safety, i would not get it, because then there is more then likely something wrong with the car. I know I would not buy a car if the guy is going to be doing that ****.

I would say the seller has slightly inflated his price because of the aftermarket parts on the car. A 98 Civic Hatch with that many k's should be more then $3000. My mint, lower k's, loaded 98 Si was sold for $5500 and it was cert/etest.

Aside form the extra parts, does it have any rust or bondo? What options does it have? Who and where was the swap done? Does the new motor have any warranty? What does it need for safety and etest?

I would search high and low for one like Blitzsix just bought.

Here is 2 Si's for example. Lower k's and more options.

I think the price is a bit too high for a '98 model car with over 200K.
