Cool your first car STORY...(dont kno if this was posted already)

What is your first car story?

What car? How much $? Used ? Mileage? How long did it last? After how long did you have to repair it?
(sorry if this was posted already..)

my first car is the same car I still drive. Not the only one I've had, but the only one I havn't sold or destroyed. I stumbled (literaly I was wasted) across it in an alley when I came across a guy trying to move it. found out h ewas thinkin bout sellin it to clear out garage. I paid 3k for a 93 eg Si hb, with about 200k on it, bone stock. It had a little honda cancer, and needed a battery, but otherwise it was pretty good. It's been just over 3 years now, there's almost nothing on the car I haven't touched on it. I've built and blown a motor, only to replace it with the original. I've done extensive work to make it handle like a cat on a carpet. A few small tweeks with the audio. I was workin on the outside of the car but now it's back to getting more power (less then 10k on a built D and BOOM).

I've drive the car about 80k a year, 15k since Oct 6th. I drove out to the west coast of Vancouver Ils. I got caught in the snow in Lake louise and crashed folding a rim and bending a lower control arm. Put on the spare and drove to Calgary. After two days to get the car fixed thanks to r-tard's at CT ordering the wrong parts (I work at a CT thought they might take car of their own, thought wrong) I drove 33h straight to get back to T.O.

I've basically lived in my car, built it up with the help of some friends. Sometimes they screwed s*&t up more then they help but the intentions were good. I've learned alot about cars and EG's in particular.

Now I need to find a rim to match and a winter beater to protect my baby from anymore winter.... That and somewhere along the last few weeks scratch marks showed up around the door handle.

If i can save it from the elements and qu&&rs trying to steal it I hope to never give up my first car. I've lost girls to it. I've spent WAY too much money building it. I don't even wanna know how many hours I've spent workin on it, but I would like to know how much time I've spent drivin it!

first car my parents gave me was a 1984 buick 4door.

frame was rotted out in the rear and when you would put it to fast in a corner the rear of the body would slide off the frame about 2-3 inchs per side.

rear seats had battery acid spilled on them (luvmycivic, remember this?? "why are my hands burning??")

had so much fun in that car, got air born and almost flipped the car on the on-ramp at erinmills by jumping a sign!.. ha ha ah.. good times..

the car finally gave up after a long burn out and popped the tranny infront on luvmycivic's house

First car is what im driving now. Just got it in August, 2000 Civic Coupe SE. had 126 xxx on it when i got it. After i got it about 3 weeks later the Check Engine Light came on, changed what was wrong, then every 2 days it would still come on, just found out on friday that the piece that was busted was sending a higher current to my ECM and fried it that was a sad day. Now I gotta put a new ECM in it on tuesday, i hope it fixed the prob!

Mine was a red 1994 Cavalier 4-door. I never had any real trouble with it. The only major thing I had replaced was the alternator but I also went through a lot of brake pads. One time I went to Mr. Lube for a simple oil change and ended up back at GM getting my transmission fluid replaced again after Mr. Lube did it. The fools tightened the bolt too tightly and it bore a hole into the cork underside and the fluid leaked out all over my Dad's driveway. He was not impressed. Neither was I.

It was actually a great little car. I was quite hard on it, but it was good to me.

1989 pontiac bonneville. Used to be my moms car. It was a good car but things were always going wrong with it. Locks ceasing, the ignition went, and finally a pushrod snapped and the motor ceased. (car got stuck in a snowbank and was moving slowly but only with the tires spinning) I sold it for $50 to a junk removal guy and bought a pizza.

First car is still the car i drive, 97 Civic Si. Bought it last year in April with about 170k on it. Knew nothing about cars back then so i didn't realize how thirsty my engine was for engine oil and ended up blowing my motor after about a month

My first car was a 1982 Toyota Tercel 4dr with a 4 spd. About 60HP on a good day going down hill, etc. Good times in that car.

First car was a 1990 Beretta GTZ Q4 , got it for $900 dead in montreal, went with a friend and towed it my highschool auto class, worked on pulling out the motor there, we couldn't get the motor out, but we got everythign else out, couple of weeks later I found a 1991 beretta GTZ with a quad 4, using bilmar head and w41 cams(195hp cams vs 180hp cams, and P&P/PM head done by Bilmar for GM racing teams) also dead, siezed block for $1300, bought it :P took them both to a mechanic in burlington

I rebuilt the block he did the head, I had the block bored, honed, flattened(I forgot the term for this, planing?) new piston rings, being my first real project, I put on the main bearings backwards, (stupid me) I took it back to the mehanic, he had the head done(though he didn't really), took him another 2 months to get the car back to me, charged me $1700, he never had the head milled/planed/flattened w/e, so the car was burning some oil + coolant, I didn't know it was burning coolant but the oil was obvious, I Asked him if it was normal, he said yea it's fine for the first few thousand k,(I was burning 1l of oil per 100km or so :| !!)

so a month or 2 later i RAN OUT of coolant, on the highway, engine temps hit max, I pulled over buti t was too late I i put more coolant in but it came out in a white cloud beside me (side pipe) and worst part it was in King city, Called the mechanic, he said he doesn't warranty anything beacuse he "does it right the first time" I had enough of that bs,

I took it to another mechanic, who took it apart and told me the head was not flattened, and the mains were on backwords(hadnt done much dammage yet) he rebuilt it for me, in 2-3 weeks, much faster, much better, didn't burn much oil at all, maybe 1l / 1000k for the first few thousand, it was pretty fast(faster then a GTP / SIR / SIR HATCH) till the ECU died >_> rev limiter went to 5000rpm, no power anywhere, I Got a new chip to match the W41 cams, lasted about 2 weeks before it died again :|! then i realized water was leaking on the ecu, fixed that. I wanted to change the wiring harness too, I had made my own push button starter since there was a problem with te original starter wiring(found out later it was the ground)

I took it to this ****ty *** place called
"Solutions" on dundas in mississauga, I DROVE my car in there, with a harness from the junk yard, it was for an auto, but all the cables were there, just had to bypass 1 relay?, I got a call 3 days later saying it was done, I walked there(close to my house) they told me they forgot the window open before taking the harness out, it rained a bit so they tarped it, but someone stole my intake from the inside the car where they left it, and the window WAS STILL open when i got there, he went to show me the car, it wouldn't turn on or even turn at all, I hit the power lock switch and my fkin radio started flashing, he looks at me and says "good luck with that" .... lol

SO I towed my car home, paid like $250 to the crackhead mechanic(I was too far gone to even care anymore), fixed the wiring harness my self in about a day, got the car running, no leaks, no harness problems, no engine problems finaly Sounded good, went good, no burning oil! had my deck in, was about to throw in a small amp and 10" sub in a week or 2, went to a friends appartment, went upstairs, came down and Boom head shot, my car was gone the insurance ended up giving me $3700 beacuse I provided receipts for all of the work done in the past year, rebuild, brakes, suspension,

Thats my book!
I left alot of small stuff out of the story though, It was fun for my first car, pretty fast, sounded mean, it was red =( I miss it all in all

pics :P

the coolest thing is, cops didn't harass me, even with my loud exhaust(the thing loped like mad cuz the cams and sounded like a v8 at idle) I went through a ride check once, and the cop was like damn, nice exhaust (I got a ticket later in hamilton cuz its illegal >_>)

My first car was a 1989 Honda Civic DX hatchback. I loved that damn car. In the time I had it (3 years) I had to replace the headgasket 4 times . It had a big fart cannon muffler on it and in the 3 years I was charged 13 times for noise pollution...I made good friends with the JP in that timespan.

It was originally white with stock interior. Then I had it painted seafoam green and the interior was customized white/seafoam green to match. It had 4 black lights inside and a stereo system to boot. It also burned oil like a ****. It was such a pimped out car back in the day (about 9-10 years ago). I still miss it to this day.

After the 3 years I ended up selling it to my friend, he had it for about 6 months before the engine seized on him because he wasn't checking the oil regularly. May it RIP. Now it's probably stripped/crushed in a junkyard somewhere, who knows.

If that car can talk, the stories it will tell.
The memories will never be forgotten.

first was a '94 Mercury Sable. had it on the road for maybe 3 mnths. $450 had about 351xxx when she died. first accident slid over a curb costing me a tie rod, stab. link. second smashed the right front corner all to hell snapping the frame bolt. drove it to my shop with 5mm of belt still connected. ran like a bag of ****, but was a good first car i guess. replaced the rear speakers with ones for a house. system sounded great for what it was! miss it just for the fact that it had space to put lots of ****. drove it most of the time with the rear seat down.

My first car was an '83 Malibu I got from my parents when I was still in High School. Had the car for one year before selling it and getting myself another, more reliable, car to go to University.

During that one year, I never changed the oil or washed the car, yet it ran pretty good. Goes to show that good ol' American cars last forever.
