Would you buy a used car from America?

First, I am not selling this car. I'm interested in it. There's a wicked deal for a 2005 Acura RSX Type-S on Craigslist.
http://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/car/715424015.html

The car is located in Baden, ON which is west of Kitchener. The dealer states in the ad that it's being delivered this week. Plus he refers to a Carfax being available. Carfax is only for American cars, so I am assuming that it's coming from America. For this cheap, there must be something fishy. How reliable is the Carfax report? It will only provide information that has been declared to the insurance companies.

Any thoughts???

If you're truly interested in it, and it is legit, it's worth the time and fuel it will cost to go and check it out.

Take it to an independant mechanic and spend 1 hour checking it out to make sure it's ok, and hasn't been flloded, etc...

I would go check that out. I've wanted an RSX since the first time it came out so personally I would go have a look see. Like it was said make sure you bring someone you can trust to check that car out (or bring it to someone). I just wish I had that kind of money.

Good luck and nice find.

I agree with nolimtzel. My concern is that Carfax will only provide information on what was reported to insurance. I guess it's possible that the car was damaged, and the driver did not have insurance. Someone gives the owner a bit of money for the damaged car, and then they fix it and put it for sale. So, everyone else's comment about getting the car checked out is what I will have to do. The worst would be flood damage - shudder.

Carfax works in the states and in canada. Generally cars in the states are cheaper. I'll be buying an STi from the states when I do.
