Is It Worth It!!!!!!!
Hey all just a question for all u civic owners. I have a 1998 Honda Civic LX and there's a place in town where I live where they get cars that have had acidents or stolen. Today I was driving by and saw they had a SIR there.
Its a 2000 SIR fully loaded and has only 20K. Has minor damage to the front bumper and the one side on the left back bumper is kinda off. Other than that runs ok and the guys asking 12,500 for. The reason I am posting this is cause I have a auto and kinda know how to drive standard. Is it worth getting this and selling my other car and learning to drive standard. Is it something thats going to take forever to learn. Any help or suggestions whould be great. Thanks all !:) |
driving standard takes only a day to learn, driving well on it takes much longer.
if you can afford the SiR then by all means purchase it (meaning you can afford the car and the insurance that comes with it :p) |
sounds too good to be true
it is definately a great deal but you should take it to a mechanic and possibly to a body shop, just to check it out for frame damage and all around if there is that little damage I think they would fix it and sell it for way more anyways, check it out |

I ALREADY TOLD YOU TO BUY IT!!!!!! LOL
|
No the colour of the car is Silver and what I am going to do is get a buddy from Honda to take a look at it and see what he says about it and also a friend of mine from a body shop to take a look at it.
I want to make sure that I am getting a good deal and not something that I have to sink another 2G's into to get it looking good. |
Standard is the standard! I learned to drive stick driving my 1986 Prelude home from the dealership. No biggie.
A speeding Mustang passed me on the way home on a side street. He wiped out, and hit a grabage truck. Came about 10 feet from totalling my one hour old car! |

STAY BACK: LEARNING TO STANDARD Drove around like that for 2 weeks... one of the best things I ever did. People where really nice too me, no one honked when I stalled out. If I came to the stop on an incline, no one sat on my ass. I recommend that to anyone who wants to learn. |
Sounds like a good deal. Get a mech to look it over before you buy though.

Sorry Guys NO SIR
Hey guys just an update on this whole SIR thing. I talked to the guy this morning and he said that the car is still parts only and that the insurance company wont change that. So to me that make it something bad thats wrong with the car.
Also the guy tells me if I want it still he can fix it and make it road worthy again and give it a new VIN lol like what is he trying here. He said then the price would be up to 17,000. To me its a scam and I'm backing off. I rather keep my nice clean Title LX and work on it:D Thanks all for ur help and someday I will have a SIR or a stardard and remember the wise words you all told me.. |
