Wicked gas mileage
Ok, so for all those who say old cars use gas and run like crap, my 1990 auto dx sedan got 5.22 liters/100 kms on the highway trip from Windsor to Mavis Rd. Shell there right off the 401. That's 45 MPG!!! Conditions were cool and dry with gusts of wind, 3 ppl in the car.
In the city, with traffic, warming up in the morning etc. etc. I was getting about 9.32 l/100 kms, which is 25 MPG.
Pretty soon I should have the numbers for mixed highway/city driving.
Nearly makes me wanna get another Civic.

haha, not @ the Body Shop JSK (BTW, how do you know what they'd sell at the body shop?)
seafoam is pure petroleum basically. dissolves varnish and oil sludge and deposits, as well as de-carbonising the engine... basically a chemical bath for cars who've been neglected on oil changes and city-driven (carbon-fouled).
being crude-oil based, they are safe for most seals and gaskets in your engine and is not some sort of magic Z-max or Pass Emissions crap.
Cablerat, you know me... I was rockin steady at 100-105 km/h. I have no reason to speed anywhere.

My mom works at the Body Shop... which is awesome because I get to try all sorts of different products.
I swear by their "Mechanics for Men Shaving Paste" Its the king of all shaving gels and creams, it brings shaving to a whole new level. It will give you a closer smoother shave and leave you skin feeling moisturised.
... having Mom work at Body shop also sucks because that eliminated 90% of the gift ideas I have for her
I will have to look into this seafoam, what does it do for the gas tank, fuel lines and fuel pump?

wow thats better than my 97dx 43mpg
for sum reason my new auto dx d15 has only gotten just over 500km a tank its a 93, i think its a smaller tank, but its still not up to expectations, especially being a hatchy...
its got new cap rotor plugs and wires, i guess the next thing will be that seafoam as its a city car, and most likely idled allot by the old guy that owned it last.
Any other sudgestions? do you think removeing the A/C belt will free it up alittle?
I hardly ever take it over 110 except to pass... I as well have no need to speed anymore...

it cleans varnish from the fuel system, esp the fuel injectors. it's used by fuel injector rebuilders in a 50/50 mix with gas to clean injector parts. So one can in a tank cleans varnish as you drive, as well as helping de-carbon the engine slowly w/o any negative effects.. you can use a more intrusive method of de-carboning by sucking in seafoam through a vacuum line, which I did with my Saturn, as I'm sure you know from your sister's car about the carbon fouling of the oil control ring (hence 99% of Saturns burn some oil). Mine all but stopped totally after a couple of MMO treatments and one can of seafoam. I'm gonna do it again soon just as maintenance.
