Why does my car creak like a ****??
Anyone else notice that their car creaks a lot?? Especially in the winter. If there's one thing i dont like about civics its the excessive rattles and noises it makes. I recently drove my friends new VW Gti and that thing was as solid as a rock, no creaks at all.
I'm wondering if i should even bother bringing my car into the dealership to have them take a look at it or not...

May I suggest KY Jelly in those rusty spots...haha!!
Trying to find where those creaks come from will kill all your brain cells. We've turned down the volume while driving, we tried listening to it while idling...pushed the back of the car down/pushed the front of the car down...We've even done the listening thing while car is parked.
Too stressful...I'm used to the noise now.

I think that I might have found a solution to this noise problem. I didn't have that much noise when I had a civic sedan, but now that I have a hatch I hear all kinds of noises.
I think that by using sound deadener (i.e. brown bread) and then putting a layer of foam (i.e. poly ... something or other available at home depot) it should eliminate the sound. I think that this insulation foam (which is about 1/2 inch thick and black, very flexible) will fill in the gap between the door panels so that they don't shake when you hit a bump on the road, close the door, etc.
I'm going to try this out when I finish buying my audio equipment (which should be in a month or so) and I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
