why the 2006 civic will SUCK!...i think

check this thread out...

http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?vie...ID=1&tID=50326

for those who are too lazy.

And strips double wishbones from the rear of the new Civic and replaces it with.... a torsion beam setup. A 200 HP Civic Si with struts up front and torsion beam out back.. handling will really suck.

http://www.vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=385028

This is why tuners are abandoning these cars, there is about no potenial left in them when they come from the factory like this.
what do you guys think?

I think we won't see that suspension here. That article is about the Hatch that will only be sold in Europe. I believe Honda uses that suspension because it takes up less room and uses less floor space in the 4 door hatchback version that Europe is getting.

I think it won't suck because the Si is supposed to have a 6 sp 200hp K20 and LSD.

We'll be getting the same suspension setups on the 8th gen civics as we get on the 7th. Macpherson struts up front, double wishbones in the rear.

the new sedans are sooooo nice, I know all have seen pics of the coupe but the sedan is so much nicer. I'm not actually sure if I saw the new EL or the new civic because all badges were removed and lights taped. Been seeing them driving around my workplace (I work at Honda) in Alliston, I'm in the truck plant so I haven;t seen them too close. As for suspension I imagine it will be the same as the current generation.

1 newton meters = 0.737562149 foot pounds

1 kilowatts = 1.34102209 horsepower

That honda diesel makes 138hp/250 ft lb. of torque. Not bad for a little diesel. But not the best either.

yeah, the dbl wishbone was the only thing Honda had on the Civic that made it stand out from the rest of the econoboxes. In 2001 the Civic just became another econobox (although still the best of the bunch). It's a great all around car for those who will drive it stock. In terms of tuning potential, I think 89-00 will always be the best platforms, of course 98 sedans being the best out of those LOL

you know what will suck on all the new versions? all those futuristic interiors with all those buttons on the steeringwheel and stuff, how the hell can you change your steeringwheel without loosing those function, yeah you can work them in the dashboard, but still, it's allot more (delicate) work.

if the civic si will come 6spd 200hp k20 lsd.... i'll highly consider it...
but the crx coming back...... that's a real good choice too... gotta debate between them...

and for some reason, i really like the civic dash..... i'm not a fan of aftermarket steering wheel anyways... the only drawbacks is, there is no way to install an aftermarket deck without doing some work on the console.... hmmm....... however, ir eally like the digital look of it..... one more weakness is, i rather there is like a leather boot for the shifter instead of just a stick... it looks kinda weak likes it gonna snap off or something! hahaha.... otherwise, the digital look is amazing and i like it more when there's more buttons/functions....

On a slightly unrelated note... I'm really excited for the Fit, which has been all but confirmed to *finally* reach our shores sometime in '06.

Fit is a sick car ... rode in one in Japan while I was there, nimble... but not that fast... but I'm sure once it reaches us they'll be a bundle of aftermarket goodies avail... Mugen did one up real nice at the autosalon in 04...

I think one of these would "Fit" nicely in my garage. A 2 door one would be nicer, but I'd still take one over an Echo.
