Went today. It wasn't bad, just very crowded. Way too many people pushing their strollers around and teenagers hanging around the cars. I hated all the people handing out flyers and crap and all the vendors in the upper level of the dome remined me of some infomercial convention.

The GTR was nothing special IMO. Just another wet dream for the JDM fanboys. It looked awfully big and ponderous. The Lancer EVO looked much nicer in person. I really liked it. The Subie on the otherhand didn't look so hot. The interior was awful. The Z06 and ZR1 were both badass. I love seeing real carbon fibre on a production car. The brake rotors on the ZR1 were so huge and carbon ceramic I think. I really liked the Audi A5. I never even knew Audi made the car. It was sweet. I mainly went to check out the new BMW 1-series. It was really nice and in the running for my future next car.

^^The reason the brakes are so huge on the new ZR-1 is because they are identical to those on the Ferrari Enzo. No joke.

The new GTR has taken a different path than the previous "tuner car" versions. It's now aimed to be more of a super car, to compete with the corvette, porsche, etc... With a nurburgring lap time of 7:38, I'd say thats supercar territory. It's way more sophisticated and refined than the previous versions.

went saturday, it was kind of packed and yes, hate strollers...ughh....

the skyline was one of the nicer cars on show since Tdot doesn't get a lot of the nicer concepts like europe, japan and even detroit...unfair i say! least we got the R8 i guess...

the evo is crappy inside, it's basically a lancer inside...it drives way faster than my car of course so hands down to that and it's AWD 3 modes was kind of fun but for the same price, why not purchase the STi, it's way faster and comes with a way better pkg. tho it's a sport wagon (why???) i'm sure it still handles GREAT.

peformance>cosmetics

the sti gets to 100 in 4.5 sec whereas the evo gets there in 5.4 sec

also, the interior of the evo is crappy, it's like the lancer but dble the price--go test drive one and you'll see the diff

I was just expecting something smaller and more compact like a 350Z. The GTR was more like a G37, but I believe they are built on the same basic platform.

Yeah, it was sweet. I really love the High performance touring coupes. Definately directed to my demographic.

My age starts to show now. I love the performance and awd capability of the EVO and STI, but they rental-car interiors and lack of certain options totally sway me away. THe EVO looks decent in person, even though I have previously made negative comments about it's looks. The Subie just looked plain to me. I still like the original bug-eyed version the best.

Did they have an R32 GTI? I never had a chance to look. I like them too.

yeah, i miss the bug eyed look my cousin and two of my friends have them
the competition btwn mitshi and sube's this yr will be based on looks or speed i think...the evo looks better on the outside but being the first evo in canada...it will probably have probs...it's a mitshi right :P (did anybody notice they have only 5yrs warranty whereas all other models have the 10yr) don't know why the sube didn't have the sedan model anymore...does anybody know why? b/c they still make the forrester right?? even the new imprezza's still are sedans....

I believe the sti is supposed to be wagon only. Also I found the interior in the evo was better than the sti's. The interior in the sti was very cheap looking with lower grade materials. The new sti imo looks awsome on the outside, though I do not like the WRX version as much. The new evo also looks very good, as long as you don't look at the rear end...lol. I don't believe the performance of the evo and sti is too far off each other. They both have almost the same hp and torque, and similar weight. if I had to choose one, I'd pick the sti because of the convenience and practicality of it being a hatchback/wagon.

I found a lot of car's interiors were going down hill this year, with a few exceptions of course. All Chrysler's had by far the worst interiors I've ever seen.

The new GTR is VERY loosly based on the G series platform and the engine started off based on a VQ37, but now is almost completely different. There are no interchangeable parts from a VQ37 to the 3.8L in the GTR.
