Who's car was frozen?

Mine sure was.
like 1/2" thick ice.
Took some mighty strong pulls on the handle and flat head screwdriver to pry my door open

cibs 15-Jan-2007 01:29 PM

wow... i had crazy ice too but my door opened with ease and big sheets of ice fell to the ground... that part was kinda cool!

rjngo 15-Jan-2007 01:43 PM

imported_tweak_s 15-Jan-2007 02:06 PM

Im thinkin of stealin my dads car cover from our 1975 Monte Carlo thats sittin in our garage.. all nice and warm. and safe from the cold.
But then i thought... what if it rained again? would the car cover get completely frozen to the outside of my car? lol

I just cleaned off the car and the Van and salted the driveway, forget the shovelling. It's now starting to snow. Once the heaters warmed up, cleaning off the car was a breeze. Had no problem opening the doors, just gave them a good tug.

zeeman 15-Jan-2007 02:54 PM

i could actually see the whole door handle starting to bend as i was pulling on them trying to get my damn door open (stupid EG door handles). Took a good few minutes to get my doors open.

DumbasSi:
Why wasn't that sexy car parked in your nice warm garage?

imported_xplizitremix 15-Jan-2007 03:10 PM

lol, sucks for you guys, I went out, key in, unlock door, open door, all with my pinky finger, fired it up.. 10 mins later turn on the wipers. Good to go. Thank the lord for my new thermostat.

I've used a torch before to get my doors unlocked back when I drove an 85 Crown Victoria.

silicone spray will help keeps your weatherstripping from freezing guys. and the ice on top just give it a couple of good knocks with your fist to break the ice.

The garage was full of big boxes and a few bags of garbage until this morning and I didn't really know it was supposed to snow/rain. Besides, the car is driven only a few times a week, so I've been holding out for snows and other wheels.

I just finally managed to get all of the snow and ice off, so she's tucked away in the garage now.

The Prophet 15-Jan-2007 08:24 PM

my car had 1" of ice on it.... good thing i had remote start, it warmed it up a bit and made things easier....

imported_t_dot_SiR 15-Jan-2007 08:30 PM

i didn't drive today, wouldn't worth getting stuck in the traffic and risking being hit by the crazy drivers. but my tires got stuck into the snow

imported_JLM SIR 15-Jan-2007 08:58 PM

After getting off work tonite, I park my car at the go station...it took me almost 50 min to scrape the damn ice on all windshields...I really hate this weather!

imported_truluder 15-Jan-2007 09:02 PM
