where can i take a car to have a mechanic check before i buy

just like title said,
i'm looking to buy a used car, from a stranger, he claims he has maintaince records but i know i should still have a mechanic check before i buy. thing is, i don't know of a place i can bring it to, do we have an affiliate that does this, or someone can give me a suggestion/recommedation.

Do you have a family mechanic?
If so just bring it to him and tell him your looking at buying it.

take it anywhere, a dealer, mechanic shop of relative that is said to be good...any licensed mechanic should be able to point out problems that are starting or things that need to be replaced for the safety to pass

Priority Plus Auto Inspections, its a completely unbiased auto inspection shop, the mechanic doesn't do any repairs at all, he just tells you whats wrong with the car. I know the owner, Vince, he's a former CAA tow truck mechanic and he's affiliated with CAA and APA. The shop is in Woodbridge near hwy7 and 400, www.safecar.ca, really trustworthy since he has no motivation to lie to you since he doesn't actually fix anything
