What would you pay?

Im trying to get rid of my civic (going for a new gen Si). The reason why im asking for some help is that it has a rebuilt title. Here is some info and a pic. Thanks for your help in advance.

Honda Civic SI-G 2000

160k orignial motor&tranny
Tranny shifts perfect
5000k on Falken all season performance tires (sir rims)
everything stock besides:
lowered with skunk2 sport shocks & sport springs
DC Sports Intake

Mechanically the car is perfect. It has saftey and etest all valid. 2 sets of tires (winter and all season). Upgaded alpine and infinity stereo with rockford fosgate amp. Viper alarm.

Rebuilt title info:

I bougt the car from an auction. It was involved ina front end collision. I had to get a new hood, grill, bumper and headlights. The frame was not affected. Replaced and fixed with OEM parts, all work performed by a lisenced professional. All done in 07 october. Painted the whole car aswell. Black with blue pearl.

There is a small loonie size dent in the drivers door. And a scuff on the front bumper. Theres no rust on the body as it was painted recently. The passanger side door the paint underneath the moulding is chipping a bit.

Heres are some pics (bigger pics http://img505.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=03222009020.jpg)

5-6 k, no way. There are non-rebuilt, lower K, 2000 Si Civic's on the trader for that price.

I'd say you would be lucky to get $3500-4000 for it.

I actually saw your post on craigslist or kajiji a couple days ago. I'm interested in getting a 2001/2002 si in a couple of months with a similar set up (new suspension and intake) and was wondering how much you pay for insurance?

Rebuilt title is a turn off for most buyers.

car is almost 10 years old. I think 10 years is the point in which cars loose a lot of value in the market as not many people want to buy a car over 10 years

Rebuilt title is def a turn off for many people , even if the damage was minor just posting it as rebuild title will knock a 1000 (at least) of the price (comparing it to car with clean title)

I did a little research and civics from the same year , model and similar mileage are going for 5000-6500 so i would say 4000 will be a good price for yours ( maybe even 4500)

Its just going to be a little hard for someone to actually go look at your car since it has a rebuilt title... Personally i would buy a civic with a rebuilt title if the accident did not affect the frame and it was fixed profesionally ...

My civic was in an accident (not rebuild title but i can tell it was somehow big ) and so far it worked amazingly , no problems at all .....

wow...you guys are really optimistic. There was a recent thread over at ******** about a similar vehicle. almost exactly the same actually:

http://www.********.com/********/for...ad.php?t=35176

Is this car worth the price?
97 civic si so all power options
Black interior/exterior (no rust at all excellent shape hasn't been winter driven)
15" black motegi rims with goodyear potenza tires
Adjustable coilovers
Full aftermarket exhaust system
Cold Air intake
Tinted
Aftermarket head and taillights
197 000km motor runs mint no noises nothing

*comes with original suspension and head/taillights and extra steel rims
I'd prob change the wheels and find sir tailights.

Asking price is $4000 safetied

**MY question is do you think this is a decent deal? worth more or less?

Only pic i got snapped of it.

replies:
Worth less than you're asking.

Great car, I just wouldn't pay that much.

def not $4000 dude.

I call pure BS on the never winter driven part. It's a run of the mill Civic, worth about 2 grand.

LOL @ never being winter driven.

i bet he drove that 365 days a year. bangin' redline every gear.

offer him 2g's and tell him he can keep the haggard wheels.

if thats worth 4K then mine is worth 12K, offer him 2500 and go from there

Definitely not 4K man, thats a rip
start at 2K

HEEELLLLZZZZ NO, you can get way better for that price

3000 tops if in good overall condition with no rust
4k can buy you something with a swapped engine
I'd day $3,000 tops. It's a 10 yr old budget/economy car. There's no way it will sell for $4~5k. That's like 2000 Integra territory.

I kind of agree with you. However you also have to take into consideration the market price of a 2000 civic si ... The market price of a 2000 civic si with around the same mileage is actually 5000-6000 .... being a rebuilt title is prob a 1000 off the market price therefore around 4000 .....

Also the civic SI is not exactly an economy car. It s not like a SE , DX or EX... It is the sports version of the civic, 2000 is ther last year of production and those cars have a very HIGH consumer review...

that's the thing, on Kijiji, CL, there are always tonnes of dreamers. 10 yr old cars for $5k. I mean, its a civic!!! Also, online ads never publish what these cars "actually" sold for. I'm guessing its usually for A LOT less.

For example, I got my 96 Integra off Trader. Listed for $3500, final price, less than $1700. If OP was looking to list the car online, then yeah, list it for $5~6,000 and see what happens.

but in the end, I'm sure if one of us TCCers were to buy this car, we wouldn't pay more than $3500 for it.

I'd say you could easily sell it for $3000. if you're willing to wait, probably $4000
