Speaking of D's. There was a thread on Clubcivic not too long ago, where a guy built his own D16 (i think it was y8), fully from the ground up. I THINK he was getting close to B16 power from it. It was a high compression NA D16 build. Im sure if he went low compression, he could've also went booted and pushed out over 250 easy.

Best? Sure if you want a great winter beater.

I'll take my Si any day thanks.

A mint EG or EK hatch with a K20 would be a sweet little weekend car though.

I still wouldn't dump that kind of cash into a 10 year old car. I'd buy something else that already had some decent potential in stock form without putting $6k into it.

most k20's only have 160hp at the crank...if you get a RSX type S one you have 210hp.. for that cost you can have a k20 eg for 6 grand..or you can have a built, tuned, turbo'd h22/b18/b20/b16 pushing a LOT more hp.. Unless you have ridiculous funds there is no point in getting the K for Hp:$ Ratio.

B16 Turbo, Straight LS Turbo, or D series turbo. In this order depending on how much money is left from the 6g.

i personally think looks wise the civic lost its "soul" after the 6th gen. anything after looks too tacky for my liking. and id have mto disagree with buying a newer one anways. you can get a decent shell for an eg for around 6-800 bucks, get the body work done and all mint, paint it, swap in a nice b series with low km's on it, build the engine, boost it, upgrade all the suspesion, and re-do the interior to power everything.... and still have spent less on that car than on a new civic like yours. not to mention the "10 year old car" would have just as good of a body as yours, be a lot faster, look a lot nicer, get more respect, and still be a lot cheaper... new cars are a waste of money IMO
