Hey guys,

I am wondering what engines will fir my car. When I say "fit", I mean, just take out the engine, and replace with a direct bolt on to my tranny (5 speed). I am considering a 6th Gen SI engine. Im sure there are lots out there, and for not too much money.

ALso, would a 1.6 EL engine fit?

The reason why im considering this, is because my car's a DX, and i dont even mind it (power), but VTEC would be nice. I dotn race, or anything, I just need my car to be reliable. If anyone has anything, please PM me details, and prices, PLEASE.

And, as far as replacing the other one, I am not a mechanic, but I have rebuilt ATVs, Snowmobiles and dirt bikes before...so Im thinking of doing this myself. Should I, or Shouldnt I. What will I need, I have all the basic tools, anything special that I may need?

The 1.6 EL engine is the same as the 6th gen Si engine (D16Y8).
