What radio do cops use?

Hey..

I was interested in picking up a CB radio for my car.... I was wondering if any of you knew what frequency the cops used? Or do they use a different band of radio? How much would a unit run me?

Thanks!

they're not even close to the CB band (26.945-27.405)
you might be able to get a scanner, but it's illegal to broadcast on any emergency band..

wait so is a scanner a broadcaster? doesn't it just scan for the frequency then lock on to it for listening?

Why do you want one?

Are you just curious?

You wouldn't understand all the 10 codes.

ya, sorry if i confused things..
shoulda made that 2 sentences instead of one..

a scanner merely picks up signals..
tho you were talking CB's originally, and anything used to broadcast/has the capability to broadcast on their bands would be a big no-no..

Okay,

I just wanna say something quickly here...

I understand that people feel strongly about the unfair treatment that some officers have given towards people with aftermarket mods to their cars. But I want to point out this: although it may seem that officers are constantly harassing us, they are also the same officers who put their lives at risk everyday to ensure that the streets of wherever you live are safer. I'm not a police officer, and neither is anyone I know, but I think this police bashing has to stop sometime. if you are critical of the way the police are doing their job, by all means say so, but I don't think anyone appreciates posts saying stuff like "f*ck the police"...there's no need for that.

That's my opinion.

I wish they did that! But if you look back at darknights, just IGNORE the making streets safer part. It was a cash grab, nothing else. It's no more about making streets safer. Crime is growing by the day, and all the cops do is sit their asses down with a radar gun, and claim they've made Toronto a much safer place; therefore, I still say FU** THE POLICE.

if that did take place it was in the suburbs
last time i heard a cop radio in toronto... it was like this

cop1: IS the guy still in the window?
rookie cop: ya he's showing off the knife again
cop1: should we take the door down?
rookie cop: ok... let's get everyone to back off first
