From what I hear, my friend will be freaking out

Today he told me that he went to tiger Japanese in Scarborough to get a jdm d15b for his civic. He ended up agreeing to pay for the engine and for them to do installation. Cost him somewhere around $1000. After he got home he started having second thought and freaking out. So I decided to search on the boards and have read ALOT of bad things about this place. I wanted to know if anybody had there engines swapped there did it turn out good or bad. I dont kno if i should tell him because he told me he already put a deposit and it will just worry him.

How much of a deposit did he put down?

And why wouldn't you tell him? If they screw him over you would just be costing him more money..

My brother had zc swap in that place 2 years ago on his old eg and no problems. Took 1 extra day from what they said its gonna be. Other than that its all good. But again it was quite a while ago so don't take my word for it.

Bout a tranny there, what a headache they tried to give me the wrong one, then they tried to overcharge me, threw me around left right and center and when I finally got the tranny the oil was BLACK and it grinds third HARD and I'm the only one who can get it in second without misshifting when driving hard, like worse then a honda grinding 2nd or 3rd

you do know you have 10 business days to cancel that deal legally in ontario right?
If not now you know and he can cancel if he wants. They will argue it but you can all the cops and I bet as soon as that is brought up you will get your money back.... if it was a cash deal... your screwed lol

depends on the difficulty of the install..

Tiger Japan are a bunch of morons, but I've been able to haggle the **** of them..

I've purchased several engines from them.. I remember when I did my H22 swaps, I made them give me engines from the front clip cars and not the junk sitting on the floor. Also, I had free rain to roam through the engines and pull any sensors I needed..

The key to success with them is your knowledge about the engines.. When I inspected the engines, I would tell them all the items missing to complete the swap and they wouldn't argue. They market some of their items as swap kits, so it damn well better have everything.

They'll do the swap and everything should be fine.. Just expect to have received the best quality engine.. 90% of the engines are well over 150K..

Ask to inspect the engine and go read the clusters on the front clips cars. I found like 2 out of 20 that had less than 100K
