What to do? Stock alarm on 02 V sucks!
Okay guys I need help.
In late May 2002 my dad purchased a Honda 2002 CR-V EX Edition with options
- Body Colour Hard Spare Tire Cover
- Front Mudguards
- Rust Protection
- Alarm System
The vehicle is basically 2 months old with approximately 5500 kilometers on the odometer. Would it be too late to complain about the alarm system during the first servicing? The alarm is an Audiovox PRO9232 http://www.audiovox.com/cgi-bin/ncom...ut?prrfnbr=696 and well it basically is not a good alarm compared to the Clifford (forgot the model) on the old Toyota 1992 Camry. First it has no sensors, when you vibrate the car vigorously nothing happens. One day when my dad was driving, we went in the car, my dad used the master lock on the driver door to close the doors and than started the engine. Well when using the master lock it arms the vehicle, yet my dad was able to start the engine without any problem. He was able to get out of the parking lot and go home but on the way it was making chirping sounds once in a while so my dad had to get out, disarm, and than continue. What use of an alarm when you can drive off when the vehicle is supposedly ‘armed’. We tested this at my uncle’s place, I took my dad’s key, disarm, went inside, closed doors, arm, and started the engine easily! When I removed the key the alarm goes off, wow like that will do any prevention from theft when driven across the province. Pretty much we are not satisfied with the alarm for $300 CDN and we do not think it is even worth $100 CDN. All it does is open the doors and closes it, and makes noise when you open the door. Could we do anything, complain about what? I would really like a Compustar alarm on the vehicle!

North Markham Honda
Bad choice. They also said "Bring in your survey and we'll give you free oil changes" I prefer to be honest.
At least its not as bad as Richmond Hill Honda, I just didn't like the negotiation with NMH. My cousin purchased a 2002 Honda Civic LX-G Sport Edition a month ago. Scratches on rear bumper, passenger's mirror, tear in visor, faulty washer nozzles (thats not fixed yet). I woulda took that to the extreme and sent a formal letter to customer service.
About my problem so I should just basically show the dealership and effective this so call alarm is? Being able to start the car when the car is ARMED. I could get a 100$ alarm to just make noise when the doors are open and basically that is what I'm receiving. Below quality alarm!
