The "Fad" with STI's and Evo's, is that they're not civics. A fun, sporty car, that has look, performance, and elegance. evo's are a smarter car, sure. But I'm an a.ss! Where an evo might slow you down for traction, the STi says 'F-That' and puts the power elsewhere .

I think I get a lot more snow than most on this forum, and I have a 96 HB w/ LSD transmission. I got into and out of a lot of trouble. However... it's nothing compared to a 3300lbs car, awd, and power. I don't cruise over the snow like I've done with my civic(s), I smash through snow banks. And if the first attempt didn't work, I back up and try it again.

There was a volvo for sale at work, and I was impressed by it's power, look, but the price was fairly high... and at the end of a day, I'd be driving a Volvo!

Subaru for the win. The 02's with the STi swap are pretty cheap, too!

And i would love it.

For the money you'd spend on a wrx, the volvo could get some new pistons and rods plus a bigger turbo...and have some money left over.

Sleeper ftw

why are we comparing a subcompact/compact car with a sporty sedan/5door hatch? i don't think civics are the best cars in the world, but they do their job and they are good cars for the money.

i know what forum this is, but in no way are volvos (or sti's) comparable with civics. sti's are expensive, whether it is it's price or repairs or mods.

i've had my fair share of smashing into snowbanks and plowing snow with my civic too...
