What to do? - 94 eg cx

i have a 94 eg cx, which i plan on sending it the shop for a new motor. The question is H22, B18c, B16a?...i don't really want to get into a Turbo or Supercharger...just all motor

then the other option is pickup a Subaru 2.5 RS, Mr2, or even a 94-2000 integra to put a jdm type-r front clip on

any suggestions?

The B16 isn't worth it IMO, there are better options available to you

with 10g's i would grab a crv motor and slap a b16 head on it. full suspension, exterior cosmetics and interior cosmetics. and still have money left over to buy a winter beater.

is this a daily driver?

if not, just buy the MR2, you'll be happier...

if it is a daily, any B series will give you an solid car...

What he said, a B20/vtec. You should get over 200hp, all motor. It woun't cost as much as a K.

I've head enough about the B20 with the B16 head...sounds like it may be the way to go. Though i don't understand how installing the B16 head would give it an extra 40hp.

street only huh... so 10 grand total or on just engine suspension?
do you want the car to look good?

figure out what you want besides the motor and the tell us how much you'll have for the motor

example: do you want just springs, or full coilover, do you want lip kit, will you paint it yourself, or get someone to paint it, you'll probably want an alarm. do you want to change your seats, do you want to change the front end...

The B20 is non vtec. Add a vtec head = more hp.

FYI, your not limited to using a B16 head. You can use a B16 (SIR), B18C1 (GSR) or a B18C5 (ITR) head.

Anyone know if the new heads from Endyn are or will be for B20 vtec applications? It only mentions LS/vtec, http://www.theoldone.com/articles/Diesel_Head/index.htm.

Im not worried about the paint unless there is some extra $ left over...it can always be painted next winter...as for the interior, another time

id like to keep the eg looking factory, maybe a little jdm front lip and spoon spoiler, tyc headlights
for suspension just performance springs and struts (no coilovers)
already have a great alarm

the list
- motor
- bushings/mounts
- springs and struts
- motor bay cleaned up and repainted
- rear disc conversion
- windshield (cracked over the summer)
- 2 15" spoon rims with some damn good rubber
- Headers
- Exhaust
- lightweight flywheel

i believe that is all

If your going with a B series build (B20 etc...) use a B16a2 head, they flow the best of all the b series heads.

if you buy an MR2 I suggest an MR2 MK1 and swap the 3sgte from the MR2 MK2. You won't believe how quick they are.

If I had 10G's to spend on a 94 eg, I'd swap in a K20 and go all out NA tuning with itb's, cams, internals, see how much a K20 can push NA tuned.
