ok guys... thanks for the input

I notice a lot of you are partial to the magnaflows.

The sound Im looking for is a distinctive low bassy growl like sound that is really powerful.
Ive only heard these exhausts on like type Rs... and CRX's and possibly some civics. Could it be a combination of headers and intake too?

I was thinking it had to do with the brand of the exhausts like Greddy or HKS? The really expensive ones.

Better IDEA does anyone have sound clips they can put up in this post?

Thanks guys

hahah how about you come out to a meet and listen to them? you won't get the real sound over your comp speakers, and i'm sure ppl have better things to do than go get audio clips of their exhausts and upload them on here! lol

Dopey, you and SilverSiG have very different exhaust systems. His muffler mounts front to back while yours is side to side. Your muffler and tip are seperate, his isn't.

I like my Magnaflow, it's not that bad. It does buzz cause there's no resonator but it's not bad......only when I'm doing high rpm and it's a throaty buzz. However, I say this in my opinion, I hate the sound of Hondas.

yeap complete exhaust setup will alter the sound. My old DC 4-2-1 header made the exhaust have a different tone from stock, as well did my old DC 4-1.

Also, the b-pipe (center pipe) depending on the side of the piping will sound differnt and denending on the size of the resonator. ex. my old 2.25" ractive b-pipe (1 resonator) vs. my ITR b-pipe (comes w/2 resonators)

So it depends on everything you have (ex hollowed cats tend to make the exhaust sound like a fart can/pop corn machine)

Best thing to do; cruise w/people and ask what they run.

oh yeah btw; right now I'm using full ITR exhaust (manifold/header/cat/b-pipe) and Ractive twin loop muffler.

Nice deep tone, no raspyness, no fart can.

im gonna grab a magnaflo in the next week, i have a stock exhaust rite now, aparently 2 years old ( what i was told when i bought the car) the tip on the muffler rusted around the base of the muffler and eventually blew out the back i found the piece and it had half the inside of the muffler connected to it, so basically the inside of my muffler is hollow and sounds super gay lol, hoping the magnaflo will have a nice tone, but not to loud

eventually ill buy a true catback system with a hi flo cat and a dc header.

Don't get an exhaust that looks too flashy. Dumb cops will pull you over based on looks alone. When I asked the officer why my muffler was improper, he said "umm duh umm duh". I swear to you thats all he said. And because he was so stupid he started getting angry and started harrassing me. If a cop is going to give you a ticket for something they should at least get some training on aftermarket parts. So do some more research before you buy one

I've never owned a Magnaflow.

However I have heard G2 Racer and Audiophilas and they seemed pretty bad.

unfortunately I too am now in the market for a new exhaust.
