I think someone just tried to steal my car...

Been awhile since I've posted... but anyways... I couldn't sleep, and around 12:20 I heard a sound out in my driveway. I can't see the driveway from my window, but I can see the road, and the Red, last generation Ford F-150 extended cab that is parked blocking my driveway, engine running, lights off. So I grab my phone and maglight, and then head downstairs to try and see whats going on. I had to turn on my flashlight for a second at the bottom of the stairs, and maybe they saw it, or maybe its unrelated, but the truck took off. By the time I got outside it was already most of the way down my street.

My car isn't really anything special... its a EG sedan... it does have an immaculate body, and prelude/eg leather seats and a system, but other than that... nothing. I am scared now...

Be on the lookout guys!

I was tempted to grab my lining bar and run out swinging, but I would rather use stealth and get their licence plate number and have the authorities deal with them. Also, I don't want a criminal record just for defending my property.

^no man, you will be surprised.....in most of the cases they do end up locating the car, but by that time....they only find the shell etc.

Yeah thats because they leave it somewhere to get found. So forget that stealth and license plate ish. Run out swinging ftw.

lol. if they had a pickup they were probably after your system. more than likely anyway. i doubt they would come to steal your car with another car. both times my car was broken into i have to video of each time and they both came in cars (other civics funny enough) and took off.

the one guy got caught though... he was actually a crack head and the car he came in was someones blue stolen sir... lol

True story!

Actually I had to go away for the weekend... cousin got married in wisconsin. So I locked my car up in the garage and when I came back it was still safe and sound .

LOL I'd rather just collect the insurance money and be free than in jail cause I beat some idiot who tried to steal my car.

This has got me all paranoid now... I work nights, and have a company van which I don't keep at my house, so when I go to pick up my company van, my car goes in the locked area, which has video surveillance, and then on the weekend I get to lock it up inside the garage. Same goes for during the day.

I have a question... I know that if pros are after your car, an alarm won't stop them, but do you guys think it might be worth it for me to get an alarm?

definitely needs an alarm, wont stop them but slows them down

get a compustar coz it has 5000ft range

honestly they won't spend too much time on a car if it's hard to steal, throw in a couple more kill switches and a club for sure

that would at least stop some kids trying to steal ur car, and there aren't too many pros out there looking for a non VTEC EG sedan

well, chances are if you club the guy just a few times, hes not gonna call the cops and say

"this guy came out while i was just finished breakin in his car and was running off with his stereo and then he beat me down with a bat"

"then spit on me"

"then spit on me again"

"then pissed on"

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
my personal touch if it were me

You people are ****ing idiots. Two wongs don't make a right. Let the police deal with it is you catch someone, why involved yourself and possibly get charged attempting to safeguard your property with your own form of vigilante justice?
