Want mod ideas for my civic

I just got a 1999 Honda civic si, 2dr vtec
it currently has 160hp
I have like 2-3 grand tops to spend on it

I was thinking of buying rims, get a full exhaust.. better intake.

Any suggestions or places I could look at parts and options?

go see the guys at Option JDM. They will have many things too choose from.

for 2 - 3 grand i might suggest a good set of coilovers or springs/shocks, air intake, maybe some rims. you can do a full exhaust system but dont go crazy... maybe a set of headers would work well with the intake

1st mod - completely rust up your hood, I hear its the craze these days.

Seriously though, I'd do what you mentioned, suspension, wheels and some light engine work.
Check the sponsors for parts.

In order from first to last.
-Drop
-rims
-Lip
-i/h/e

Or

Boost it.

Or

Drop a new engine in there and do suspension

Good suggestions guys,SO I'll drop it then put rims I guess,
I'll look for a good body kit also.
I hate the color but a paint job costs a fortune.

Turbo, lowering springs with struts. You could make it with your budget.

Also how much HP would headers, air intake and a new exhaust system give me?
sorry for being such a noob but I've always wanted to buy a civic and mod it as a kid and now that I have the chance its so exciting.

not that much.

If you want real power you gotta build the block up and then you can add things like i/h/e.

Or you can swap for even more power and build the swap up and do what you like. Then there is boost.

You can keep your stock engine and build/boost it or just boost it. you can swap and do the same thing or you can keep your stock engine and do what you like because its your car. Depends on how much power you wanna make and money is also a factor.

All that will give you maybe 5-10hp. Not really worth it.

So what could I do extra to the stock motor I have now, getting another engine and doing a swap is too crazy for me right now,
I have the 1.6L vtec engine.
I've looked at Option JDM and theres not many engine mods for the thing.

By the way thanks for the excellent support.

So it has been swapped with a b16 then?

If not, sorry to say, but it's not the 160hp B16. Unless it's a usdm Si.

Wow. No one else saw that until now.

Sucks.
A Canadian Si has 127hp from its D16 SOHC VTEC motor. The US Si has 160hp.

An intake, header and exhaust "might" add 5-10hp tops. I would tune-up the car to make sure it is running properly. Change ALL the fluids, sparkplugs/cap/rotor/etc. Then I would do the suspension. Koni shocks, H&R/Neuspeed/EibachTein springs, SIR rear sway bar, wheels and tires.

For the record.....you don't need to build your block for I/H/E.

what does I/H/E stand for?

nevermind, what could I do to it besides a engine swap that'll add a lot of hp?

intake/header/exhaust

-if u have 2-3 g's to spend then u should concentrate on one thing ddo u want to go work on the motor cause if so boost ur motor(if its in good shape) or get a swap
-or u can work on the body and interior alone and make it look pretty nice it all depends on what u want...

How would I 'boost' the motor after all that is done?
